It's a Lite On, Lite On model # DRW-3S163 to be exact.

its a liteon sohw-1633s. i just flashed it to the latest liteon firmware which increases dual layer recording speed to 4x (you need to hack the firmware to accept OEM drives). now all i need is some dual layer media to test it out.

on another note, all these multi-rebate items require the original UPC. How do I send one UPC to two different rebates?

Rrgh. I didn't even bother looking when they were printing out. Usually you can call the rebate centers and find out which one actually needs the orignal, and which does accept copies. One more potential way for them to screw us though, feh.

*Edit: Check the bottom of the rebate receipts. One of them says "Copy of UPC acceptable when used in conjucntion with MFR rebate."

All manufacture rebates must have original bar codes and Office Max rebates can have copies.

had an ok outing this morning getting there 10 minutes before opening. Got the 200GB hd and wanted to get the DVD burner, but it was gone in less than 5 minutes. Stock had cleared for most of the thumb drives and SD cards within 10 minutes. This was at the location in Austin on 35 and 290.

There is a huge feud about this exact problem between the sales Reps and the Logistics people at our store. We have a good sales team from the company standpoint, meaning we can drive a sale, work in add-ons etc. I know that makes me the kind of person you hate, but understand this is my job - this is what they are paying me to do. Well, we've got the money here folks - the customer is ready to spend, but if you logistics folks don't have it on the shelf or in Lockup I can't very well sell it now can I?

It's a big problem. We always have supply shortages on in-demand items. It's almost like the logistics team pays absolutely no attention to what sells and what doesn't. Instead, we stock sh*t like foot massagers and this ridiculous doohicky which partially peels labels you have printed from an inkjet to put on your envelopes.

As soon as Best Buy opens up here in a few months, I am so gone.

So anyway, yes, I'd love to sell you what you want, but our supply line appears to be bass ackwards.

I really suggest you check out this website posted by someone else on this forum about bestbuy from the employee and the buyers standpoint and especially from the employee standpoint since you are set on working for them you should at least know what you are getting into before you make that change.

There was a link about Best Buy and it's new policy towards what it calls Devil Customer's by the Wallstreet Journal but the link is dead and I can't find the article just now. The Journal has it still but you must subscribe to them to see it. Very interesting stuff.

That is b/c your store is unbalance b/w sales and logistics. Perhaps if you communicate with the logistics as to what you need and give them a hand when the customer load is low, you would not have that problem. Basically, it's a management issue. It happens everywhere.

So I have a question about the KHypermedia CD-R rebates. I filled everything out on the rebate form they provided me in the store. But then I decided I want to track this stuff online; I filled out all the online stuff, but the addresses don't match. The rebate form from the store wants me to send it to Promotion#04-87070, but the online form says to send it to Promotion#04-85056.

Does anyone know about this?

Aren't there two rebates for this product? One for $6 and one for $8.99? The 85056 is Khypermedia and the 87070 is OfficeMax.

Did anyone buy this? I bought this in store on the 23rd and did a return/rebuy. It's the only thing that I didn't get a rebate for at the register. I tried looking online and couldn't find it either. I got the $10 IR, but not the $20 MIR. Anyone buy this and know where the MIR form is?

I bought this in store. It's the only rebate that didn't print out, so I looked for it online. It wasn't online, so I called CS. They said that they couldn't look it up without a promotion number, which I didn't have because I didn't get the rebate form. Anyway.. She said to go to your local OM. I called and they were aware of the problem. They told me to come in and they'd take care of it. I went in and they rerang my item and gave me $20 back, so I don't have to deal with rebates for this item. On top of this, I forgot that I had a $10 off $30 coupon, so they let me use it. $60 with no MIR isn't too bad.

Yeah, so that's the weird thing. The OM rebate goes to El Paso, TX. The rebate form says "87070", but the online form (also directing me to mail it to El Paso) says 85056. The KHyp one goes to Miami, FL. :disgust: I'll just call them on Mon. grrr.

Edit: ok, so I was dumb. so for anyone wondering, there's a rebate on Officemax listed as "KHYPERMEDIA BRAND CDR 80MIN 100PK SPINDLE", which directs you to the WRONG address. Instead, for those of you who chose to partake in the BF FAR deal of KHyp media, you need to click "Khypermedia 100pk CD-R" link.

I just reviewed my receipt for my OM BF purchases and noticed that my Zire 31 does NOT come to $99 after rebates. What I got is $149.99 - $20 (gift card). I don't have a copy of the BF anymore, and the scan from BF2004.net is illegible.

Could someone please tell me how the Zire 31 ended up at $99? Also, what is the "Gift Pack"? Is it the box that was in the Zire 31 package or is it a separate item?

Anyone get their khypermedia rebates?
I just got back cards from both claiming they need the original upc. I sent it with the one to khypermedia, and the OM rebate claimed a copy was sufficient.

Makes me wonder if the jack-holes are incompetent, or are trying to rip me off. Probably the latter.
