office network Help PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a small office 5 computers and a server. Server is running nt4.0 computers 4 have win98 1 win ME. The system was setup in 94. A few new computers sence then nothing special. Here is the problem. The protocol Netbeui and ipx/spx for the printer. There is my problem.
2 of the computers see the printer the others wont. When I click on network Places on the desk top and open the network I see workgroups and hp networks, the three that dont print dont have the hp network. All the computers see each other. When I try to install the printer on the other computers they cant find hp network. So I cant install the printer as a network printer.
The printer is hooked to a print server box ( I think thats what you call it) and a cat5 cable to the SERVER.
WHAT DO I DO TO GET THE PRINTER WORKING WITH THIS SETUP. I know TCP/IP is much better, but I dont want to make any major changes.
I want to do a fresh install of win 98 on one of the computers that see the printer, but I wont until I know how to get the printer working again.

Or are your four computer login a domain ?

all the computers must login to the server. Each has it own name and the severe see's them. File and print sharing is enabled. nt is checked off in the login setup

Are they on a HP print server? if so then D/L JetAdmin and follow the directions. IPX is excellent for networked printers and JetAdmin will create the printer port at the client. Or you could create the port on the server and share it out from there and install locally. If they arent HP print servers the find out what brand they are and go to thier website and get the appropriate S/W.

you say 2 off 5 computers see HP network, is it your server and win ME ?

The server is nt4. I cant find the hp network on the server. Of the 2 computers that see the printer and print 1 is me the other is win98. I was wondering do I have to create a domain that logs on with IPX. Do I have to check the box thah asks if I want to run netbeui over ipx. Is that why I cant see the hp network when I look in network places on the computers that dont print?

geek, you can only get the "HP Networked Printers" if you have the HP JetAdmin software installed and allow the Printer Provider (i don't remember 100%) to be checked off.

to me, the simplest solution would be for you to make the server spool the printer jobs since it's a small workgroup and all the computers see the server regardless.
