Except when you have two file drawers filled with CDRW's you got FAR or nearly so.

Those $10 drives are made by BTC drives. :disgust:

Khypermedia 8x dvd burner is a rebadged CyberDrive DX082D, and the last time this drive was on sale OM was substituting the I/O Magic 8X Dual Format DVD +/-R/RW Drive.

Here's the old thread from the last time this drive was on sale: LINK

8x CyberDrive DX082D review

I was in my local OM today and saw they had the I/o Magic's but didn't see any Khypermedia's. Maybe they already plan this sub.

Anyone know who makes the I/O Magic?

I assume some drone sitting there half asleep glossed right over it all and hit it with the big denial stamp.
A note doesn't cut it, a photocopy of the UPC is the standard practice for canned product. I have stacks of free canned air, all submissions of scanned UPC were accepted.

Ad says DVD-Rs are Star Logic Brand. Anyone bought these before or know who makes them?

They're most likely to be 1x.....trash anyways.

OMFG, I realized that these will 1X DVD-R media. I will pass then. I got excited about the deal that I didn't even think about the burning speed.
I see that the Star Logic 50 pack DVD-Rs (#20727000) are listed on the web site as "FREE" after rebates, $29.99 -$10 IR -$20 MIR = $0.00, so either the ad or the web site has the wrong info or maybe not.

Starlogic/Fourstar 50 pack DVD-R

BTY: I doubt there are any MFG'er still making 1X DVD-Rs, these are probably 2x DVD-Rs.

It's weird because the rebate listed
here only shows a $10.00 mail-in rebate.

tracerbullet. I've got canned air rebates back by setting the cans UPC-down on a scanner, and then printing out the scan.

I just came from OM. I saw the sub sheet - there is no official sub for the DVD+RW. That's not to say that any one store could choose to offer a substitution though.

Got the 50 spindle of DVD-Rs also but had them match the web price so they will be FAR. YMMV. The 100 spindle of Imation CDRs was subbed with RiDATA brand 48X.

I got all this for $103AR/AC/after tax ($30 off $150 online coupon, $115 in rebates):
Belkin 54G Wireless Cable/DSL Router Belkin $49.98AR ($34.69AR/AC)
SpecTek PC2100 256MB $19.98AR
Imation 25 pack DVD+R $14.98AR
MadDog MultiMedia Dominator External 3.5" Floppy Drive $9.98AR ($4.26AR/AC)
Imation 5-Pack DVD+R $1.98AR ($1.33AR/AC)
Avermedia DVD EZMaker 1394 PCI Card $19.98AR ($12.35AR/AC)

the SpecTek memory and Imation 25 pack didn't count in the $150 total.

I finally found the $20 rebate for the 50-pack Starlogic DVD-R:

link

These show up as Princo 1x. I was able to burn video at 2x without write errors but it would skip and lock in the later chapters that were located at the end of the disc. I'm currently retrying at 1x. I'll post the results.

My BTC (microadvantage firmware 0.48) can also burn Starlogic (princo) at 2x. No problem at all in the end of movies, so far I had burned three. Will post if any trouble.

I hate officemax. They always have sales, but never have the products on sale....Hm.... Anyways, did anyone get a screen shot of those dvd-rs when they were online? I'd love to get a 50 pack of dvd-rs for free after rebate. Can some one send me a scan or a screen shot or something? I'd be very greatful! Thanks!

I stopped by and checked out that desk system they have advertised for 40% off - that Maestro collection. It was actually really nice looking and seemed very well built. So I ended up getting a bunch of pieces for a little home-office setup.

did you get those free out the door or are you gonna have to submit the rebate? will the rebate even work with that brand?

btw, how are the RiDATAs? CMC? or something decent?

Here's the disk ID info from the 100 pk of Ridata CD-Rs:

ATIP: 97m 15s 17f
Disc Manufacturer: Ritek Co.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.82MB (79m 59s 70f / LBA: 359845)

These burned reasonably well on my Lite-on 52x. ~1600 C1 errors (0.41 average), no C2 errors. For a comparison, TY Fuji disks have about 400 C1 errors with my burner. So these Ridata are decent but not as good as TY. For another comparison, CMC Magnetics disks usually give me about 8000 C1 errors. So the ridata disks are a nice improvement over CMC.

They cost 19.99 with a $20 rebate, just like the Imations. The store told me to send in for the imation rebate. I didn't like that idea because the UPC will be wrong. But it turns out the ridata rebate with the correct UPC is available online at easierrebate.com, so there shouldn't be any hassle with the rebate. Well, at least no more than the usual hassles dealing with easierrebate.com, that is:frown:.
