OfficeMax 200 CDR Deal and the BASTARDS at REBATESHQ.COM

Did anyone get their rebate yet for this deal? I just got a postcard from them stating that "The postmark date on your rebate submission was after the deadline for this rebate." I know i had it postmarked the day before it was due (3/3/01). I checked the website and it stated that my paperwork was received on 5/17/2001. What the F*CK is up with this company. I tried calling them today but the phone has been busy for hours. From what I read from another thred, rebateshq.com will try anything to not pay you. That person ended having to call OfficeMax. Anyone have better luck? What should I do now?

I sent one of these rebates in, and finally found that the website says that it was received 3 months later, and is being processed.

My motherinlaw sent one in, and where she does not have an email address, the word NONE was written. But their website says that the rebate was disallowed "Reason" no email address. Tried to call and or email, but no help.

Called my local office max, and lady (sounded like mgr) said that she would give my motherinlaw the money back.

Thank you, if it happens Office Max. I guess they would be able to sell it without a barcode..

If you are timing it that close with the rebates, you may make sure that the mail box you dropped off in had not already picked up for that day. The mail box where I live picks up around 9:30am and any mail put in after that goes in the next days mail. I say this as my wife is rushing to the post office that closes at 8pm (in 20 minutes).

Well, I got the infamous postcard. Had the Phone Co. dialing their 877# for the last 12 hours. Busy, non-stop. I think they just took the phone off the hook. No response to several e-mails, either.

I talked to OfficeMax and they're sending me another copy of my original invoice, to show that I purchased these in the "right" time frame. It didn't say the rebate wasn't postmarked in time (I know it was), it said I didn't *purchase* them during the rebate period (which, of course, I did.)

My guess -- they had only so much $ in the vault for this rebate, and too many people applied, so they're trying to cut out as many as possible, through whatever means necessary.

I ain't giving up, though.

Email this guy, he helped me. He answers prety fast. My rebate is coming, sent it in the first day they went on sale at BM and the rebate center also said recieved 5/17/01.

Unfortunately we had an overwhelming response to the offer. Our rebate house was unable to handle the situation so we had to take it from them and send it down to another fulfillment house who would be able to handle the entry. We have been told that all entries will be done by end of business on Monday. Please check with me next week or check our link @ www.forrebates.com for your info.

I used to do quite a bit of rebates, esp one with the Phoenix address on it.

I too have been denied rebate claims for false reasons (get this one: no email address listed, EVEN THOUGH THEY EMAILED ME TO LET ME KNOW I WAS DENIED!) I am just so sick of these rebate frauds that I hope there can be legislation to make false rebate claims a criminal offense punishable by prison time. How about it, guys?

It's funny. My status says it's been denied because I didn't submit the UPC from the box. But, they say I can iether send it in or fax a copy.

The strange thing is, they say they didn't get it, but the scan of my paperwork clearly shows that the UPC symbols is stapled to the rebate form!

Somebody must have been hungry that day or they have some starving rats. I can't figure which.

But, I did scan my copy, of my rebate submission and email it to: John at rebate center when I noticed it was not in the system by the date they stated that all submissions were entered. I received a reply from John stating that he would make sure it was entered, and it was.


Also when tracking rebates at RebatesHQ.com try entering your zip code, both as a 5 digit and, also a 9 digit number. You will probably come up with different enties. At least I have noticed that with mine.

What do you think OfficeMax, Staples, and any other BIG BIG electronic chained stores/department stores hire RebateHQ.com as their rebate center? Coz RebateHQ will try all out not to honor the rebates you deserve, in which those big stores will save a lotta $$$.

Guess I'll chime in on this non-hotdeal while it's up top.

Call, fax, email the rebate fulfillment center. The people on the other end are human and handle a ton of submissions. Get someone to work with you. If you know you fulfilled the rebate requirements, you're in the clear and it's going to take time and work on your part.
