Damn, they just pulled the same bullsh*t to me! Postmarked after deadline! What the hell, I mailed it like 2 days before the deadline! I am gonna raise hell if they don't honor this!!!

I was denied because I didn't provide an email. Which I know I did. Called Office Max they said I can only return the product if I wanted to. Good thing I haven't used them yet. Mahoney must be on vacation or else he is just not answering the emails.

On large ($20-$60)rebates I always make two copies of everything. One copy I keep the other I mail back to myself so that it's postmarked with a date. That way if they say you didn't send it on time at least you have some evidence as marked by the US government.
Really large rebates I send via certified mail.
For some reason the large rebates come back slower...humm..
I'm still waiting on a few from Presidents day.

I thought I would chime in with some words of encouragement.

1. OfficeMax actually wants to help you all out (as best as humanly possible anyway). In my neck of the woods all rebate requests that come in to the store (i.e. the B&M) are being forwarded to the district managers who then in turn mail it to the fulfillment house (presumably these letters/faxes get put to the top of the pile). Contact your local B&M and ask them if they are doing the same thing.

2. The johnm email address listed earlier....he is the "main dude" in charge of damage control. He is a good bet for questions and concerns.

3. Hang in there. Every store had about 3 pallets of these CDs (roughly 200 boxes). If you realize that there are 1,000 Omax stores and everyone sends in a rebate you are looking at over 200,000 submissions in a week's span. That is pretty heavy. Give it some time if you still have not heard anything.

4. For those of you who got screwed because they claim you did not meet the requirements (even though you know you did) keep hammering for your rights.

5. Keep an eye out for the other rebate threads. There is some really great advice lurking in there.

Folks, here is how you deal with these places when they try to stiff you for the rebates. Go to the Better Business Bureau's website and file a complaint. It has helped me get the places to send my rebates a lot faster. If the rebate certificate says 6-8 weeks, if I don't have it by the end of 8 weeks, then bbb.org is where I go to. Imagine when the BBB hears from all the A'techers who get stiffed on these deals? Those rebate places will have their plates full then. Happy rebating.

I have sent them all paperworks & have wait patiently until 5/17/01 after reading another thread regarding this OM rebate. I have checked the rebateshq site and could not find my name on the list, so I wrote to John an email that I have sent to them all the required forms and have not found my name on the list. I specifically told him that on my certified tracking return, it is his name signed on 2/28/01 that he has received my forms. Well, few days later, I check rebateshq again and voila, my name is there with the day mail received (5/19/21), day validated (5/19/21) and now they just issued me a tracking number.
Well, I will let yourself draw your own conclusion.

This is so full of BS that I think we should do something to teach them a lesson.

I got one too, says I didn't provide the UPC. But since we are allowed to fax it in, does anyone who's smarter than I am keep a copy of the UPC? If so, could you scan a copy of it and post? I'm sure it would help a lot of people, I know it would help me!
