Well.. That was uneventful. I just walked into OM about 5 minutes ago, said that I had purchased the dvd rom and dvd rw a couple of days ago and noticed that you had it on special. The CSR returned both of them (didn't even have the drives on me) and then rang up a new sale. The register spit out the rebate forms and off I went. Very painless. I will never wait in line for a Black Friday sale again.

Hey,
I bought the Fellowes 32 capacity CD wallet and I got the rebate book from OfficeMax as well, but I cant seem to find the rebate for it. Anyone know where it is? If it's not in the book can someone scan it or post a link to it?

got the cendyne dvd-rom. was pretty happy getting it, because my cd-rom was having hard time reading discs for months now. anyhow, plug up the dvd-rom, but it wasn't detected. checked everything, replugged all, still no go. tray wouldn't even open like there wasn't a power connection. so i disconnect all drives except dvd-rom, still no go. try different power plug. nothing. the drive is doa. argh!! and officemax won't have any left to exchange with. hope everyone else's worked at least.

hmm, closest i found was on p.19 bottom half, item #35. but it's targus, not fellowes, although same rebate amount. maybe there was misprint?

well buddy you get what you pay for ahaha just kidding.

Really though, you should be able to get a new drive from OfficeMax when the new shipment arrives and still take advantage of the rebates.

a Pacific Digital 16X DVD drive. Anyone else get one of these? Who makes them and are they as good as the Cendynes? The rebates are still SUPPOSED to be good ... we will see

Pacific Digital is Mitsumi Retail brand, don't know who actually makes it, but I presume Mitsumi.

I went to Office Max late today, didn't get my butt up in time. They had no Cendyne DVD's and there was no mention of a substitute, I'm going to call them and ask because I did see the Pacific Digital DVD-ROM there but it had no special deal on it.

No Verbatim CDRW left, but there were three qualifying SKU's: Verbatim, Cendyne, and a Polaroid CDRW! I wanted the Verbatim, thinking there would be a greater chance of it being a Lite-On, but I took the Cendyne, anyway.

Got it home, opened the box and the free CD-R disc had "Lite-On" labeled on it and so did the bundled NERO software CD. Uncovered the drive and it says "LITE-ON IT CORP" right on the drive label. Cendyne doesn't even try to pretend they make their own drives, apparently. haha

No slim line jewel cases or Hi Val CDR left, but I picked up the K-Hypermedia and they seem to work fine. I also got the Belkin surge protector, PCI modem and NIC. Cheap, yes, but for just the cost sales tax, I'll take cheap.

Opened up my Pacific Digital DVD-ROM and was somewhat surprised to find a SONY model DDU-1621 drive inside. Now if I have no probs with the rebates this was not half bad for about $2.60 (tax).

WRONG! The shipping invoice will have the order date listed first and directly below that is the shipping date. I'm looking at an invoice right now so I know this is a fact.

I can confirm that the Pacific Digital DVD-ROM drive is a SONY model. I got it as
a substituation. I saw the ugly picture on the box, and almost decided to
return it until I saw people were getting Sonys. I opened mine up and lo and
behold a Sony.

You might want to check page 19 of the rebate book. It looks like the 32 capacity
cd wallet rebate is in that big form at the bottom. But listed as Targus 32 Count
CD Wallet $5 Rebate. (top of right column) Hope the sku matches up with the
Fellowes brand one.

the CD wallet is Targus. On mine, the brand is Fellowes, but it says on the side of it: "FELLOWES BY TARGUS". THerefore, it is the correct one for the rebate

I bought a 50 pk of Belkin jewel cases last week on a combo deal. The rebate is on one of those combo sheets with a ton of other rebates. You have to check off which product you bought and then include your upc and receipt.

Who makes the 100 pk jewel cases btw? I found a rebate for KHypermedia 100 pk jewel cases here. The one that I'm referring to is number 31.

i went to get the cendyne dvd-rw at like 10:30, they were all gone. i had gone online and checked it out, sure enough it's a rebaged pioneer. i saw they have a newer model out, twice the speed (4x vs 2x).

so there's a stack of the newer ones there 4x/2x dvd-r/dvd-rw / 16x/8x cd-r/cd-rw so i asked how much that one was, they rang it up and it was $220, so i said i'd take it. then the girl says "hey i think there's a rebate too." she looked it up and said it was $20.

so i get home and look close, guess what? it's a $50 rebate!

end result? i got a pioneer brand new double speed model for $170 after instant and mail in. totally unadvertised! same price as the slower advertised model! hmm....maybe i should have posted it as a hot deal that day? oh well...

So are they gonna honor the rebate or no? The only reason I bought it was cause it was free after rebate. Hopefully they do honor it or I will be mad...$5 for a student is a lot! And the lady at OM told me that the Fellowes one was the one that was free after rebate.

I also wondered about this since my pack was made by Value Data, and the sales add picture matched mine. The OM mgr told me it's listed as KHypermedia on the rebate form. Check the SKU on the form and on the item. They match.


I called about the rebates on the Kingston RAM and if the orig. receipt is really needed for the one sent to "Kingston/OM..." in Miami (says send orig. receipt on form). One store mgr told me the rebate receipt is OK. He also said to send a copy of the rebate receipt to the one sent to "OM December..." in Young America (says copy OK). Do you really send a copy of your rebate receipt or a copy of your regular receipt?

Another manager said on the one that asks for an orig receipt to send your rebate receipt and a copy of your regular receipt.

What's the correct way? I have too many rebates to deal with declines.
