The ones I got today are CDRs. Ridata 48x CD-R (Ritek) 100pk (UPC #8 46122 00025 8), in a red plastic wrapping, $19.99 - $20 MIR. But the rebate printed up seem to be a bit off in the promo dates....

The ones on special are CD-R's .
The confusion may be coming from the fact that both the cd-r's and cd-rw's were in stock at Omax in the red shrink-wrap without spindles. Add to that the confusing fact that one week several weeks back the RW's were on special, and the Rs were on special the next.

My Officemax has THREE versions of the Ridata CD-R's in stock.
1. Plain clear shrinkwrap with only a clear plactic "cd" on top and bottom UPC on sticker on top and bottom
2. RED Ridata shrinkwrap with a larger 1/4" spacer on top and bottom UPC on sticker on top and bottom
3. 100 pack in a clear plastic spindle pack with a half-height green wrap-around label UPC 8 46122 00030 2

Considering that dealing with OM is like dealing with the Gestapo, in my book, OM is as bad as Best Crap.

My problems with OM rebates started in February, too. I'd enver had a single problem with OM rebates until that month. I've gotten 5 rejection notices in the last week for rebates submitted during Feb. Talked with the store manager on Saturday.....seems OM is quite aware of the problem with the rebate rejections. I was told that just bringing in your rejection post cards to the store would be enough for the manager there to call and get the rebate checks released.

He informed me that the rebates going to Miami, FL...Parago....is the root of the problem. And I was also informed that since Boise Cascade just acquired OM, the BC management is not going to tolerate the problems that Parago seems to have. There is supposed to be some conference calls/town meetings scheduled in the next week or so for the management of OM to sort the problem out......either have Parago shape up or ship out.

The ultimate problem seems to stem from different OMs using different SKUs or having multiple SKUs for the same rebate......seems Parago just checks your UPC against the first SKU number on the list and if it doesn't match, rejection. He guessed laziness on their part.

yup. that is the UPC.
I'd run DVDinfopro on one, but i'm burning something at the moment.

have only about 20 of those Ridata left.. shiny silver surface(R02) ..just prefer the Aritas.

Heh...I work at Office Max and have access to like the next 3 or 4 ads...we get them like a month in advance...I haven't seen anything spectacular in them thus far...

Is there a specific type of packaging that is a best bet for the 100 cdr's? I read an earlier post opf there being several different packages of those disks.

Dud is right - for every person that hasn't had a problem, there is likely one who has. If you submit your rebates online, you'll reduce some of the problems. Keeping copies of everything and doing the littles things like printing envelopes clearly (with a printer), you'll increase your odds of having a trouble-free submission. YMMV, but I'm one to speak of their reliability. Most rebates take time (usually the full 8 weeks), but I'm willing to wait just to get a good deal ($20 hard drive anyone?).

Agree with Growltiger - OM rebates are really tough, but if you are playing by the rules - it works...
So far, I received all my rebates, but sometimes after long discussions with customer service. It never takes less than 2 months, and my worst delay was 4.5 months - for 40$ rebate of MicroAdvantage CD-RW drive

yes ..submissions for rebates are still doable.
