I can only get pages 1 and 8 of the main ad. Everything else gives me a 404. Anyone else?

CMC Magnetics. Imation is crap. Those disks not only get discolored but I have had many that don't work anymore after leaving them on a spindle (burned) for 2 years.

They are great if you are doing a lot of burning of movies and music for friends and family because they are cheap. Sadly, I work at a bank and we exclusively buy imation cds here. Oh the agony of an uneducated IT department.

I cant read the pages 4-5 not clear enough. Any other link you can provide? Need to double check that price on the external WD HD and find out the specs on it. Apparently your saying it is $50 no rebates! Is it 7200RPM and 8mb cache or 2mb cache. Looks like the price on it is actually $89 after rebate which sucks compared to what you posted...

The only thing that sucks here is my OfficeMax NEVER and I mean NEVER has any of the items advertised on sale. I went in there last Sunday at like 10:00 AM EST to pick up the 100 CD-R Spindle that was FAR (which I assume to be the same one from this week), the slim line jewel cases, and possibly a PD DVD burner. All in all, I needed to buy at least 500 CD-R's plus cases, etc. so I asked the sales associate if where the items from their advertisement were located, and he told me they never carried them at my OfficeMax. So then I tried to PM the Memorex CD-R (50 Pack Spindles) that were on sale at Staples (and clearly shown in their circular for $9.99), the manager logged onto Staples.com and said that because their site showed it was $12.99 + a $3.00 instant coupon that he did not have to price match the coupon, and their Memorex's were $12.94 so they were already lower. He also would not give me the discount or the rebate on the DVD burner, I was told by him that if it rang up at the discounted price he would adjust the price on my order to reflect the shelf tag. I pointed out in the circular where the SKU's were and he said that those were merely "manager's discretion" to offer them.

I ended up giving up and going up to Staples where I spent about $200-300 on other stuff I needed for my office as well, it is just very frustrating to have a severely sub par OfficeMax. Frustrating to say the least ...

No

Go to officemax.com, look for WD 80GB external, and Voila! specs!

Apparently your saying it is $50 no rebates!

Western Digital 80GB External Hard Drive - 20508675 $149.99 - $50 = $89.99. (Wasn't hard to figure out that the = and - had been transposed.)

Looks like the price on it is actually $89 after rebate which sucks compared to what you posted...

So sorry to disappoint you.

Free CD-Rs are good no matter the brand.

My philosophy exactly.

Thanks for clearing up about Imation - guess I was wrong! Looks like I'll be sticking with my Made-in-Japan Fuji's.

DVD Burners:

2073-0176 = Khypermedia 8x
2067-6401 = Pacific Digital 4x (if Lite-On, can be flashed to 8x)
2073-1380 = Micro Advantage 8x

CDR's:

2018-7245 = Khypermedia
0223-6903 = Imation

A FAR 56 K modem is always handy when the highspeed goes down. Slow is frustrating, but better than not at all.

Does anyone have any idea what standard that Microsoft Wireless router is? Its $20 AR which seems like a decent deal for a wireless access point. It would be really hot if it was the G standard.

I have an OM like that also. I only go there if I absolutely have to. The manager is BS'ing you. They have the sale items but they hide them so they don't lose money. Next time you try getting a sale item first thing when they open and they say they don't have it start complaining to the manager then keep working your way up. Ask for the regional/district manager's name and number. Make a big fuss that they never have any sale items. I have done this the past several times at my problem OM and they mysteriously found the stock!

in my experience k-hypermedia and imation and fujifilm are all good CD-Rs... and I've gotten them all free at one time or another, haven't bought CD-Rs (except sales tax I guess) in years. Oh but to find cheap DVD-Rs
