and sampson, everytime i watch buffalo play i become convinced that is the case.
Hell, Buffalo, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Pittsburgh,.. even New Jersey (with their moronically boring trap and brick wall goalie), can whip up any team the west can throw at them.

Nashville really has the best chance, followed by Detroit and Anaheim. Detroit will lose in the first round due to their players having no legs left in the second half of the game.
Anaheim will just go cold and self destruct, same with San Jose (if they can even muster the balls to stay in the playoff ranks). Vancouver can't score goals to save their lives and will not make it deep. The rest are just fodder. Very unimpressive division this year.

Wings lead the league in most 3rd period goals. It's during the first period thry have to play better. If you seen the Avs-Wings game yesterday you could see what I am talking about.

Also Tampa Bay, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh have nothing on the Wings. The depth of those teams cannot compaer to a healthy Wings lineup that can look like

Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom
Calder - Lang - Bertuzzi
Maltby - Draper - Franzen
Cleary - Filppula - Samuelsson
(Hudler, Kopecky)

Lidstrom-Markov
Lebda-Schneider
Chelios-Kronwall

Tough loss to the Ducks last night in the SO. We were down a total of 99 goals with Hartnell, Forsburg, Arnott, Sullivan, Legwand, all being out last night.

LOL @ people that think they know what will happen in the playoffs.

There are upsets every year and this year will be no exception.

Like a ton of injuries so that two thirds of one's defense are minor leaguers. But I'm not upset or anything.

Yup, but the Canucks showed this season that they can handle the Top Eastern Teams quite well. Those dismissing the Western Conference are likely doing so with little actual evidence of East vs West comparisons given the Regular Season divisional centric structure.

Points/Standings only tell a part of the story. The Northwest Division doesn't look like much from the Stats, but it has been playing Playoff Hockey for months and is probably the most battle hardened Division in the league.

All my(biased---Go Canucks Go---) opinion of course.

That's such a low amount of games to judge from though. Too small a sample to to draw a conclusion IMO, especially in a Playoff situation.

So a small sample size is okay for you to say "the Canucks showed this season that they can handle the Top Eastern Teams quite well" but not for me to point out pure fact?

Nice win by the Canucks.
I've been here for six months but I'm slowly but surely converting from a Leaf fan to a 'nuck fan... with the winning and everything.
