Ohio State Offense vs. Texas Defense
The suspension of cornerback Tarell Brown could play a significant role in the outcome of Saturday night's game. Brown is the Longhorns' best pure cover corner and he was expected to provide a tough matchup for wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. With Brown out, the Longhorns will turn to Brandon Foster as the starter opposite Aaron Ross. Foster is experienced with 22 games under his belt and he has done a fine job as the team's nickel and dime cornerback in the past. However, while Foster has good quickness and experience, he is nowhere near as physical or fast as Brown, who is three inches taller and 20 pounds heavier.
With that in mind, expect the Buckeyes to target the matchup between Ginn Jr. and Foster as much as possible. Co-defensive coordinator Gene Chizik is trying to downplay the significance of Brown's absence but he likes to play more man-to-man coverage than he lets on. Knowing they cannot leave Foster on an island versus Ginn Jr., the Longhorns will be forced to play more conservatively with safeties Michael Griffin and Marcus Griffin. The other backlash for the Longhorns is depth in the secondary, as Ryan Palmer moves up from the dime package to the nickel-cornerback spot. In an attempt to exploit the situation expect the Buckeyes to spread the field with three-receiver sets of Ginn Jr., Anthony Gonzalez and Brian Robiskie more often than usual.

I'm a fan of neither, but I hope that OSU wins. This is probably Texas' only chance to lose all season long, because of how absolutely abysmal the Big 12 is and has been for the past few years.
Lately, Texas reminds me of the Florida State teams back in the day that played in the really crappy ACC. They played like one hard team the whole season, then just coasted the rest of the way.

my gut feeling says that Texas wins by 3 or less points, , although I wouldnt mind seeing texas loose, seeing how they beat my team (USC).

yeah we'll be loose, limas sweed, billy pittman, and jamaal charles running loose against tOSU secondary all day
If you had any confidence in your team you'd want tOSU to win so they'd be higher ranked come Nov 18Originally posted by: Falloutboy

few decent teams?
umm ND, Michigan, and OSU have way more history in the game of being Powerhouses than prolly any othe team in college football.
there is only 25 top teams every year and most of the time all 3 of these are in that ranking granted one might have a down year but that happens to every team.

plus there are a lot of us from the Great Lakes Region and the Ohio Valley here on the boards. myself? i have lived in ohio my whole life, grew up in a Buckeye-loving family, and thus have always and will always bleed scarlet and grey, especially considering I am now a freshman at the school.
that and a lot of Big 10 people will want a big10 team to beat an out of conference team.
my prediction? it's gonna be a touch game, but OSU will win by a touchdown, maybe a touchdown and a field goal. gonna be glued to the tv for this game, that's for sure.
