Looks pudgy, I liked the edgy styling from the concept drawings more. Headlights are so ho-hum. But definitely a move in the right direction..

It's a 50/50 split under normal situations.

You're kidding right? The current M45 is better looking, I'll give you that, but the pictures of the upcoming M45 are every bit as hideously ugly as everything that Nissan's released lately. The current M45 is the only good looking vehicle from Nissan and now they're going to ruin it.

I'll stick to classic understatement rather than flavour of the month "bling bling".

Actually it's 70/30 by default in most situations, except when you need to accelerate quickly or loose traction, then it can toggle up to 30/70 and direct torque between the left and right wheels if necessary.

By classic understatement, I believe you mean "upscale Accord" with the new RL. That's basically what it is anyway You have some weird automotive tastes. You're one the only people that think thinks that the current M45 looks good (I've heard you say you liked it before on these boards).

The new one just wreaks of class and elegance and the interior is gorgeous. And I'd take RWD and a 340HP V8 over an Accord based V6 sedan anyday.

Outstanding interior. Exterior doesn't look like a luxury car though.

How much is this thing going to cost?? 50K? Is it going to be worth 15K over a TL?? (which looks better IMO) They are about the same size and 30HP shouldn't make that much difference. The only thing is better interior and AWD.

Technically, the system is supposed to respond before slippage. I'm not sure how well it works in practice, but it is most definitely not based on the same model as a viscous coupling setup that does not adjust until slippage has already occured.

wtf is 'super handling' awd?

and if the same system is called '4wd' on the mdx, which is it? i've always suspected the mdx had an awd system and not a 4wd.

Well, it comes standard with a Navigation system (the one in the RL is better than the TL's optional navigation - you get a larger LCD screen and more features), Acura's keyless access system (no key needed, just keep it in your pocket and all of the doors and trunk will open upon command and the car will start too), XM Satillite Radio and OnStar, Side curtain airbags (don't know if they're standard on the TL, though), paddle shifters, and AWD - IIRC, it's supposed to have more passenger room also - won't know until the full specs of the production model are released.

The new M45 looks like a larger copy of the god-awful G35 series. In 5 years these cars are going to look hopelessly dated. The Acura will not. The new Nissans just scream, "Look at me! I need validation! Look at me! I'm stylish! Really! I swear! Just look at me!" Thanks, but no. Just not classy.

rear lights strongly remind me of the new 5 series tails. front end oddly reminds me of the new lexus gs sedans. if its like most hondas, it won't have as much torque as the competetion, and judging from the current rl's pricing, that won't look too good in its class.

a new or current style m45 makes far more sense than any rl.

You could say that about all Acuras.

I totally disagree. The great thing about the G's styling is that it is distinctive but doesn't scream it - the styling is very clean, smooth and uncluttered - the last thing I would associate with attention-whoring. If any cars scream out "look at me" it would be the new caddys.

If you don't see the G or new M's lines as being classy, I'd like to know what car's styling you think is.

Serious, the G35 has some ugly ass tail lights but none of the honda haters on the board ever mentions it. Hell, while we are taking digs at looks, why not look at Nissan's entire fugly ass line up, complete with bucktooth grills and jellybean minivans. Oh yeah, and then there is the FX35/45 which looks like someone at Nissan decided it would be a good idea to stretch out Darth Vader's helmet and put wheels on it. The M35, overstyled and fugly, it's gonna be like big hair from the 80s, people are gonna look back and say WTF was anyone thinking. The old one is just straight up hideous. Oh yeah and it gets even better, Nissan's QC is now about as bad as GMs complete with crappy resale value.

I mean nothing against nissan really but have you fanboys ever heard that phrase about glass houses and throwing rocks?

He thinks the Porsche 914 is beautiful! I kid I kid. I think the current M45 is good looking. Not beautiful in the least, but its classy. Give it to me in dark metallic silver/grey, tinted windows, and chrome wheels..and it'd be the perfect cruiser.

Those guages in the RL are awesome! But car is much to bland compared to its stablemates: TL and TSX. You'd think they would put some of those edgy design cues from the TL/TSX into the RL. But they didn't, instead they Camry-ized it.

But the interior is gorgeous. The success of the RL will depend on pricing.
