warriors have a legit shot at making it past the first round
Did you honestly type that with a straight face?
Warrioirs won all 3 regular season games against mavs.
But, I think Mavs will step it up and get through the first round. They are the best right now. Playoff atmosphere is different, so maybe it was just a slight slack during the regular season games that made them lose to warriors...we'll find out
As a 10yr season ticket holder for GS, we most def have a legit shot. Players are for once healthy, and we can definately run offensively with the Mavs. Plus, I'm sure Nellie has something planned. I'd say though we won 2 staight up against the Mavs this season. Tuesday's game doesn't count (even though we won that).

No one thought GS could stop Dirk either. They can stop McGrady the same way they stopped Dirk, double and even triple team from all directions. If its up and down Yao doesnt have the wind to play that long. He's huffing and puffing against the Jazz. Other than the occasional Battier 3 i dont see any real threats. I think McGrady and Yao can score 60 and still lose in an up and down game with the Warriors. Slow it down, inside game is what scares me. Utah scored more than Houston in the regular season, but I think Sloan will revert to old school Utah basketball. I think the Rockets will think they can run.
Of couse, I could still be high off the Warriors victory. Dont know and dont care!

there were a number of people who thought the warriors would give dirk trouble, one reason being that nellie knew so much about dirk. another reason is that dirk has a very lethal but limited set of offensive moves...take him out of that and he struggles. and you make it sound easy as throwing double and triple teams at stars to take them out of their game. mcgrady is a much better passer than dirk and will find open shots for other guys...not to mention that there will be a large chinese man who, with some good ball rotation, would be wide open if you double/triple team mcgrady.
i will say that there is no one with the rockets that can d up baron tho. it's going to be a great series...i'm very excited.

Dirk is the smallest 6'11" guy in the NBA. he plays small but isn't quick enough to keep up with GS's smaller PF / C. and he's not strong enough to over power them.
Some other guys are going to have to come up big if dallas is to win this series.

Uh, Garnett? Biedrins? Dirk is 245, at worst that's about average for guys in that height range..

NBA Refs
Pretty ridiculous. That being said, Kobe gets his fair share of phantom calls.
