The Jazz/Warrior game was quite epic. I think that game is going to be sticking in peoples minds for a long time.

Also, who else is starting to love Charles Barkley? I used to find it embarrassing to watch him, but now I look forward to the pregame/halftime/postgame show because he's really grown on me. He's so funny how he's so unpolitically correct and always cutting off the other guys. I love it how it rails on the bay area and everytime they try to cut to a commercial he just keeps talking, it cracks me up!

Yes, GS played 2 close games in Utah but that's not to say that if Utah steals one in GS, which is a distinct possibility if these two games were any indication, that the series could easily go 4-1 or at most 4-2 for Utah.

IMHO, these 2 games, along with a 3-1 series win over the Suns this season shows that the Jazz can run with any of the up tempo teams in the league. As a matter of fact, I think it's the Houston's and San Antonio's of the world that really give Utah grief. For some reason, those teams can really punish Utah. Let's not forget that Utah was the 7th highest scoring team in the league (granted, GS was #2) while still maintaining the 17th best 'D' (GS was dead last) points wise. Shooting percentage wise, Utah was 3rd while GS was 11th.

Generally, I think Utah can run with GS. They may not be able to jack up the 3 as well, but Utah's other advantages make up for it including rebounding and FT % (74% vs. 71% for GS). Rebounding wise, the Jazz just punished GS again tonight, which is really IMO the only thing that kept them in the game since they were giving the ball away like it was radioactive.

Of course, stats don't tell all of the story. You have to still play the game, but it's not like this is the Utah Jazz of old, where every play is the pick n roll. Tonight's game I think demonstrated that quite well. Although they may start with that, it's very much like the triangle offense in that they have many options: 1) the pick man doing the roll 2) the curl coming off of the baseline 3) the drive and kick out from the point guard or 4) the scissor play flaring out to the 3 pt line.

Utah has just as much heart as GS, although maybe not as well publicized. Fisher was clutch tonight and in the post game interview on TNT, it looked like he almost broke down and cried talking about his daughter. That's gutsy dealing with a child with cancer, surgery, and then hitting a big 3 in OT.

Yes, I'm a Utah fan, and in any other situation, I'd be rooting for GS. I'm a big Nellie fan and loved Mullins when it was Run TMC. I'm glad they beat Dallas, but my heart here says Utah wins the series. I can only pray the Suns make it to the WC Finals, as I think the Spurs will pound us like we're in prison.

Both of these teams are good at home and pretty bad on the road. Yes, I think the Jazz can take one in Oakland (but not saying they will), just like GSW almost had game one and two. It's my guess that this series will go 7, with the Jazz having the edge in game 7 because it's played in Utah. The Jazz haven't won a road game yet in the post-season, and the Warriors have only won one.

Watching the Jazz is very difficult for us Warriors fans. All of the offensive boards get very old, and Carlos Boozer has to be one of the most boring stars in the league. The Warriors really have no one to put on that guy.

I'm thrilled that you're confident that the Jazz can match up with the Suns. Personally, I doubt it. The Jazz took a very early win in Phoeix at the start of the season when the Suns were playing very poorly, they lost the second in Phoeix, and they beat them twice on their home court. The Jazz will not have home court advantage, and the Suns are a far superior team to the Golden State Warriors, a team the Jazz have barely beaten twice at home to open round two of the playoffs.

Like I said earlier in this thread, the winner of the GSW/Jazz series is going to get killed by the Spurs or the Suns. I'd put money on it, and I'm not one to bet on sports.

I couldn't believe the Warriors blew that lead with less than one minute left. If they don't win games 3 and 4, they are finished.

After seeing the video here and other videos of dirty plays by Bruce Bowen (here), this guy needs to be kicked out of the NBA.

Wow, he deserves a suspension for that kind of crap. And I'm a Spurs fan.
Edit: I remember seeing that live and thinking to myself that Amare looked injured from a bad fall or something. That kick explains everything now.

Great third quarter by the Pistons, we'll see what happens in the 4th.

Nice comeback by Detroit.

Might be a bit early for the broom, but giving up a 19 point lead at home has to be completely demoralizing...

wow, even as a die hard Pistons fan............THAT was impressive.

the Bulls are talented, but the experience of this Pistons team is just too much. the Pistons core has logged more playoff games than any core in the entire NBA. the spurs group is second.

watching the Pistons methodically attack the Bulls' lead was just scary. it's so cliche when describing the Pistons, but the team just doesn't get rattled. when they're down or face adversity, they don't over extend themselves, they just run their half court sets and execute.

If AK47 ever had a reason to cry...

Baron Davis just destroyed him.
