and dont forget the press conferences. I especially like the statement of using the powerful microscopes and telescopes in arizona to find fairness in the suspensions.

Went to the gym this morning to play some basketball; post game, a group of about 30 guys were talking about the suspensions and Phoenix's exit from the playoffs.

Let's just say I have a feeling the suspensions are going to come back and bite the NBA in the rear when the ratings for the conference finals and NBA finals come out.

This series goes to show that Nash really does not deserve most accolades he receives. He is a great player but has been on a team of all-stars for the past 3 seasons and they can't make it over the hump, not even to the finals. He has free reign in a system that inflates his stats, but can't win when it really counts.

Maybe this is what you see through the eyes of a Spurs fan, but as for the rest of us intelligent NBA follows I can assure you that statement is ridiculously unfounded. Nash is as much an MVP on his team as Tim Duncan is on his, probably more. It's not even about the stats either (though 18/14/6 is nothing to sneeze at) but he's incredibly consistent and still shot at around 50% for the series, try and argue THAT down. So quit sticking your chest out like the Spurs PWNED them or something, if Amare played in Game 5 I assure you it would've been a different story and you'd be singing a different tune.

IF the Spurs didnt give up a late 4th quarter lead in game 4, you would be singing a different tune. See how "if" really doesn't mean anything?

As Tfinch pointed out, there is no way to predict a game 5 SA loss if PHX was at full health as they have shown they could beat the Suns on the road at full health.

yeah...except sports shouldn't be about ratings. commercialization has become bad enough and now you want the NBA to decide things by the effect it would have on ratings.

If NBA players were civilized and could be trusted to not start bench clearing brawls when fights break out then this rule would never be in place. They only have themselves to blame.

If it favors individual teams, then they shouldn't decide things on that, but if it favors the sport overall becoming more entertaining to watch and improves ratings, then that is something that should be considered, within the framework of overall safety and fairness of the sport. People aren't tuning in to see officials and referees on power trips. They want to see the game played.

i agree, but this was a clearly defined rule that was broken. it didnt have anything to do with the officials or refs

IMO the difference was that boozer was'nt getting the free points like he did during the houston/gs series. boozer totally owned yao and whoever the warriors threw at him.

Why does a young player like Deron Williams understand that when you must have points, you stay aggressive and drive to the basket, while veterans like Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, even Lebron (even tho he's still playing), so often continue jacking them up from the perimeter during crunch time.

Because LeBron thinks he can shoot and make fadaway 30 footers consistently, and Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter might get a back spasms or leg cramps on their way to the bucket.

Its not a coincidence that he hasn't won a playoff series in 6 or 7 tries, that's all I got to say.

Deron Williams is older than Lebron. Williams also has a better team around him.
