a healthy GSW team (which is what they are now) is almost as threatening as PHX can be.

Yep the Mavs would've rather faced a different team...I know a couple of Mavs fans that are semi-worried about the matchup. I'm actually glad the Suns ended up against the lakers instead of GS...although it should still be a good series.

and dirk can win the mvp if suns win the title

Mavs win it all this year. Go MAVS!

Not even paying attention to the East until the conference finals.

Did you honestly type that with a straight face?

Tell me why the warriors don't have a shot at beating the Mavs.

I only need one letter: D.

but you cannot just write off the warriors, their record after the break speaks for itself.
they're on a crazy run.

The Mavs will expose them in a 7 game series. Though they are a scary team because I think Nelson is one of the best at exploiting matchups and he has some talent to work with. But do you really think in a grind out 7 game playoff series that the Warriors are going to win?

I do agree Mavs will win that series, but they will get all tired running with the Warriors, more so if this goes to 7 games. when second round comes the Rockets (or Utah, but my money on Houston). they'll not be in as good shape physically as they want to be.

$360 for upper level seats??? gee way to milk it punks!

I got my tickets yesterday as I am a Jazz season ticket holder. $360 is insane! Since I am a season ticket holder, i get the same price I normally get for a regular season game which is $5/game. They are great seats too. The benefits of being a season ticket holder

GOOOO LAKERS!!! PLEASE!?!??!!

sigh. I'm so sad @ the lakers right now. I can only hope the lakers can steal 2 games just to keep me happy for a little bit. just awhile longer.

they're on a crazy run.

18-10 since the break. That's .643.
The Mavs winning percentage for the season: .817.
The Mavs winning percentage until they clinched the west: .829.
The Mavs winning percentage after the break: 23-6, .793.
The Mavs winning percentage after the break until they clinched: 19-4, .826.

FYI I am counting the Portland win on April 7 as the day the Mavs clinched the West, I might be wrong. But either way that's about when they stopped playing as hard. At the very least you can't count the Utah and GSW losses against them since their 3 best players were in street clothes.

So you see, "crazy run" is relative. 3 13+ game win streaks in a season and a 67 win season is more of a "crazy run" to me but hey I guess I am spoiled.

edit: Just wanted to point out yes I am a huge mavs fan but that doesn't change the facts. I would stake my life that this series won't go to 7. I say 5 but 6 is possible. Sorry just wanted to say that before someone else points it out.

I just hope they don't get screwed by the refs. Go Warriors. <- Not a warriors fan, just hates the mavs

No doubt. there were a LOT of questionable calls last year against the Spurs when they played the Mavs.. add that to the ref scandal this year - i hope the refs aren't out to prove a point again.

There are complaints about the refs every year. The Mavs were the biggest complainers for years. I think it is impossible to have a completely impartial crew. But I hope the recent suspension ensures the refs will be as impartial and objective as they can be. It sucks to have games decided on foul calls when teams have worked all season just to get to this point.

Yeah, it's definately good that refs know they aren't invincible anymore. I think it will definately make for less bs tech's and some great games with fair reffing.

I think people will be surprized how the Mavs handle golden state. Everybody including Nellie is planning on a high scoring small ball run and gun shoot out with Damp,Diop and Willis sitting on the bench. But I look for Avery to pull a page from SA's playbook and force them into halfcourt sets by pounding the ball in the paint and limiting the warriors fast breaks. Mavs in 5

I just want to quote you on that, I hope you don't really end your life IF this does go 7 games

(1) Pistons - Should be an easy win

(2) Wizards - Could go either way

(3) Nets - Close matchup & s/b a good seris

(4) Mavs - Another easy win

(5) Suns - And another

(6) Spurs - The Spurs have a good chance to win the West IMO

(7) Jazz - Small upset?

(8) Heat - Should win this round on experience

i have a huge issue with your 2nd choice - how can the cavs-wizards possibly go either way
if CAVs do not blow out the wizards in 4 games i would be surprised and they probably don't deserve to be in round 2!

The Wizards have NO CARON BUTLER AND GILBERT ARENAS!!! Their record since their injuries is probably worst than the same injury depleted Knicks or Celtics!

Wow I didn't realize they were both out!

I didn't pay enough attention to injury reports toward the end of the season I guess & I'll have to revise that pick.
