All that needs to change is Lebron should have a big smile on his face

I'm still pissed that the Spurs are in the finals, but I'll really glad it's not another Spurs/Detroit finals either. If the Cavs can beat out the Spurs, Lebron will be my new favorite athlete. He's already up there with that performance in game 5.

Don't forget Gibson. He's pretty good at throwing his arms up and yelling, "hey!" Remember the 3-point play he had in Detroit??

!!!

Detroit shot 36% from the floor and were 3-14 from behind the 3 point line. A couple ticky-tack fouls didn't decide the game. It was their terrible shooting and inability to control the glass.

just checkin' in to have my serving of crow.

The Pistons fell apart last night and they lost all the poise and execution that brought them there in the first place.

From a strategical POV, the Pistons lost the game in the first 2 minutes of the third quarter. Flip Saunders has been out thinking himself and for some odd reason decided to play Lindsey Hunter and Flip Murray to start the quarter. The third quarter was where the Pistons had to make their move, but Lindsey played awfully, giving up a TO and that stupid foul when Lebron was breaking to the basket. Everyone in the world knew that Lebron was going to finish that unless Lindsey tackled him. Horrible play to get the crowd ignited. That 2 minutes the Piston fell behind and it was over. Further evidence of Flip Saunders' insanity was playing Nazr Mohammed for no apparent reason, when he hasn't played meaningful playoff minutes this entire post season (and not much of the regular season)...where was Jason Maxiell who has been playing relatively well and giving the team energy?

Anyways, the officiating was nauseating, not because of any bias, but because it turned the game into a FT shooting snoozer. It's a Game 6, let the damn teams play......no one wants to see a FT shooting contest for nearly an entire quarter.

At the end of the day, it was a good run and at least I got to celebrate an NBA championship with the current group. What stings the most is that a Robert Horry three blocked a back to back championship, and would have elevated the team to mini-dynasty status. ah well, go Tigers

I don't know what the heck Saunders was thinking either...he disrupted the what the pistons are known for, taking control of the 3rd quarter with energy and defense. He also took Prince out with 4 minutes left in the 3rd (for mohommed?) when he was playing well. And not playing Maxiell? wtf. Everyone wants to be a genius. As for the refs, it sucked, including even a couple fouls/no calls against rasheed. Some of that is 'home cooking' that usually works against the away team, where the visitors for some reason have to be the aggressors to get a fair shake (which the pistons weren't.)

I'm a spurs fan and I pull no punches about that. However having Lebron and Daniel Gibson (I mean he played for Texas and that's my school!) playing against the spurs is a delight for me and for ABC.

It is one of those fantasy questions. Could a 1 man team beat a complete team? I mean Jordan never went against a complete team in the finals that he won (don't get me started there). So it is interesting to see a Jordan-esk player who can elevate his game when necessary go against a complete team (maybe not as complete as when they had robinson also) that has its share of mini-stars.

This will be interesting, but I pick Spurs in 6. Why 6? Mostly because the spurs do just take of games. They will put the big guns on the bench when every fan in the building thinks they should be on the floor to rest up for the next game if they see that this game is either out of reach, or not going as planned.

Somebody better suspend Bowen for this series. He's out to hurt LeBron!

Spurs in 5, and the first game the Spurs will win by 20+.

but SA has the best player put of the two teams. so its really 1 star vs. 1 awesome team + 1 star.

i dont see why everyone think its going to be a cakewalk for SA. cleveland won the season series 2-0.

keep in mind everyone thought mavs were going to walk over the warriors even though the warriors won the season series 3-0.

plus lebron has a higher chance of getting a call than anyone on the spurs. IMO, that gives cleveland a huge chance to win.

If you watched any of the Cavs-Pistons series, especially the last game, and then consequently watched any game of the Suns-Spurs series you would know why the Spurs will obliterate the Cavs. The level of competition just isn't quite there in the East. And regular season don't mean sh!t, both teams are playing far better now than they were in the regular season.

What are you talking about? Jordan & the Bulls won 5 championships. Out of 5 NBA Finals teams they beat, not one of them was a complete team?

Plus that's ridiculous to call the Bulls a 1-man team when they were winning championships. They were a 1-man team in the 80's when they lost to the Pistons again and again in the East semi/finals, much like Cleveland is a 1-man team now. But when the Bulls started winning big, they had a complete team -- Pippen, Grant, Paxson for the 3-peat... then with Pippen, Rodman, Harper, Kerr for the repeat. By that time out of their starting 5, 4 were All-Stars or former All-Stars. That's a complete team of All-Stars plus a complete superstar. That's why they won 72 games that year. And you say that's not a complete team??!

My prediction for the finals: DA BULLS 144, the Spurs -12.

I think the Spurs will win because Pops can motivate, and kick @ss when needed, much better than Brown.

The nba is a game of matchups tho, and there's not a singe matchup the Spurs have that will dominate their Cavs counterpart. Transition play will be huge, and I wouldn't necessarily hand that one to the Spurs either. Boobie's role is going to be huge, the cavs needing his 3's, as well as him staying out of foul trouble and staying in front of parker on the defensive end.

Anyone who's expecting a blowout sweep will be sadly mistaken tho, these are two very good half court teams, who can both play well in transition. And Lebron's new-found comfort in taking over a game offensively will continue to make his teammates that much better, since the Spurs defense will be adjusting towards Lebron like the Pistons did.

If the Spurs win, people will say, 'duh', but if the Cavs win, they will rock the basketball world.

Go Cavs!
