Not bad....Cleveland and LJ play like crap offensively for most of the game and only lose by 9....

Poor early shooting and offensive rebounds...that will do it everytime...

They'd jump out strong on every pick, and when he was isolated, they'd jump at Lebron as soon as he put the ball on the floor or made a move. Immediately, like flies on crapola. This is going to be a huge learning experience for James...it won't get much tougher than that.

Plenty of home cooking for the spurs tho. Duncan could have been called for atleast a couple more fouls in the second half, not to mention other spurs. Lebron and the rest of the cavs got squat going to the basket. That will change in cleveland tho.

Game two will be interesting to see what adjustments are made. Spurs prolly won't be making many, except to smother lebron even more.

Having a bad game is one thing. Being a total flop after all of the sickening hype for a week is another. This guy didn't even try to take advantage of his size and athleticism to get to the hoop. All he did was pout to the refs.

I don't know if it was the ESPN announcers, or the fact that the Spurs were playing, but this was one of the most boring games of basketball I've watched this season.

Speaking of ESPN, their whole presentation is decidedly second-tier. Classical music for bumpers-- who's idea was that?!?

Lebron had an absolute crappy game, and the Cavs still only lost by 9. Getting support wasn't the issue tonight for Lebron. But having said that, Mike Brown is a fool if he doesn't find more minutes for Daniel Gibson and give gimpy Larry Hughes a rest-- he was getting schooled by Parker all night long.

Do you want me to list all the sh!tty games Parker and Ginobli have had in this year's playoffs? Ginobli had a 3 game stretch in the playoffs where he didn't score in double digits; a combined 6-24 shooting, but he seems fine to me.

The only player living up to all the hype is Duncan. That guy is a machine...

I don't know how anyone could say this game was boring. Watching tony parker get through the cavs defense and make layups at will, the pass to elson was sweet as well as the alley to manu. Also liked that block by duncan on lebron

Spurs were kinda rusty in the first half because of the long layoff but I expect them to play better in the second game.

What game were you watching? They threw the kitchen sink at him, and teammates didn't make many shots to take the heat off. Hello?

This is not only a learning experience for James, but his teammates and particularly the coaching staff. Nothing to blame lebron on this one...his shot didn't fall, sh!t happens, but the spurs did an amazing team job limiting him otherwise.

And its true, bowen was nothing more than a gnat to James, but every spur got in his face whenever they were close to him on the court. And the amazing part was that the spurs played with this kind of defensive energy and concentration on James the entire time he was on the floor.

WTH?...student of the game? What does that even mean? I do know that the Cavs shot under 40% until very late in the game and Spurs committed 14 TO's and to me that made it a boring game. The Cavs played well below their season averages and the Spurs played dead on to theirs and to me it didn't feel like an NBA finals game, just a regular season affair. I do however look forward to the adjustments in game 2...at least on the Cavs side.

The mavs sure could have beaten a lot of teams in the playoffs, however the playoffs isn't about beating 'a lot of teams', its about beating everyone in your path to win the finals.

They are exactly where they deserve to be, sitting at home enjoying marv albert's hair on their new hdtv's.

(however if they and the rest of us are lucky, Mike Breen will be doing the games and albert and his particularly obnoxious whiney-toned partner, doug collins, will be not anywhere in sight during the finals.)

agreed. saying that, skill wise they were the best. just didnt have the mentality. but they still were the best team. i guess championship basketball is different to normal basketball. and thats why spurs are so good at winning championships (though they are dead boring)
