Watch the video before you speak please. If you look it couldn't be avoided. A split second before a normal check would have happened Cheechoo tried to avoid it, and thus their knees collided.
The point is Hartnell did nothing to avoid taking out Cheechoo's knee. Get that through your thick skull would ya?

Coming from a Sharks fan, I agree that it was unintentional. Stuff like this happens. It wasn't Hartnell or Cheechoo's fault.
