I was in the middle of responding to this when they gave up the second goal. Brodeur is making some great saves that he shouldn't have to make, especially the two big short-handed chances.

Man this is frustrating... they're not really getting outplayed, they're making bad mistakes!

puck in the net before the whistle... hmmm... goal

Isles got hosed!

oh and Pierre Maguire is the biggest Buffalo homer ever. I can't even understand what he is saying with that Buffalo hog in his mouth.

Sadly, that's not the rule.

What a rollercoaster of emotions! Glad Gomez scored the game-winner.

Notice how I didn't mention any official rules.

Bad angle on the video review though... inconclusive.

Puck could have been touched or even tipped or a player might have had a chance to touch it and didn't, or a player has a chance to get to it.

Oh it was, for sure. I'm not even pulling for either team, but the replay clearly showed it in the net before a full second before the whistle was blown. The play wasn't blown down and the puck was in... *shrug*

I don't know what the reason was for them calling it off, but it doesn't matter anway, since Buffalo came right back and scored.

I don't think goals should count when the goalie is pushed, puck and all into the net. However, it happens often enough that I can see your complaint; this was an inconsistent call.

was there a replay that clearly showed the puck in the net before the whistle? and if so, why didnt the guys in the war room get that replay. i really dont know as i was stuck watching the game on sopcast the whole time.

I agree but the Sabres players seemed to have just as much to do with Miller being pushed in as the Isles players in that instance. Agree to agree

Yeah... there's this thing called momentum... some people say it affects the outcome of hockey games. Not sure though

Yeah, and Buffalo stopped the Islanders momentum by coming back and scoring.

in the end the isles deserve all the bad calls that come their way due to a subset of their fans acting like no class turds in the last two games.

It wasn't reviewable.

I think meltdown75's point is that regardless of the reason it didn't count and whether the replay clearly showed the goal in the net (of course it couldn't since it was under the goaltender), we all know it was in the net, and it really sucks to have a pivotal goal not count.

So teh Rangers swept the Thrashers :Q
That series wasn't on the channels here like all the others pretty much are, so i don't know if it's because NYR played superbly, or ATL just sucked.

NJ's win tonight pretty much kills the chances of the Lightning winning the series
I'd say it's over for the Bolts now.

And damn, Islanders have had bad luck all series long, lol.
Looks like Sabres should finish this one up soon enough.

I am so not interested in any of the Western series though.
All boring IMO...
