Woohoo! Buffalo wins 5-4 and we're going to have a Buffalo-Ottawa conference final. Fitting, since these are the two best teams in the East. Should be a great one.

Congrats to the Sabres!

Great game by both teams to finish off that series.

Buffalo vs. Ottawa will be an amazing series!

Finally, the series is over.
I'd much rather play the senators than the rangers, ever again.

The senators v. sabres series should be awesome. Both teams play a more wide open, skill oriented game and there is some evil blood between the teams from crap that transpired during this past season. Both teams are fantastic goal scorers and can skate from end to end at the drop of a hat. Buffalo does have a bit more depth and definitely has the advantage at the goalie position (yes emery is doing well, but miller is better, period).

Good thing there is a break until the conference finals, I need some time to grow all my finger nails back.

ps. conference final tickets on sale, 10 rows up from the ice behind the net sabres shoot on twice, $1000 per ticket or $800 and 1 hour with your wife/gf.

This is going to be a really good series. I don't think there is quite the disparity in goal between Emery and Miller. The Senators seem to be poised to go all the way (cant believe I just typed that). They remind me of the Wings in 1997. They have gone through the same types of steps the Wings had 10 years ago.

I picked Buffalo and Ottawa before these Conference Semi's started. I am picking..

Ottawa in 6 games

It should be the best of the conference finals. I think that Miller has a distinct advantage over emery, but that is coming from a fan. The sens are definitely on a run to win, but I think they have some left over playoff anxiety from the last time Buffalo beat them. Sure they edged buffalo out in the regular season, but that has shown to have little meaning in the playoffs as usual.

I also picked Buffalo and Ottawa in the conf finals, but I pick Buffalo in 6, mabey seven if they decide not to skate again.

Good luck man! I'm rooting for Buffalo, if that is any consolation.

And here's to hoping that the Wings can put away the Sharks and people will stop bitching about how the Red Wings can't win in the playoffs.. can't compete in the new NHL.. can't blah blah blah..

Congrats Buffalo fans, it was a good series but the Rangers just didn't have it. Good luck with the Sens, should be a good series!

Oh man how I would love to see Hasek come to Buffalo and play. He has a knack for failing against Buffalo in the arena. I would love to see him get peppered by the buffalo forwards.

I root for buffalo when they are the best and when they are the worst. I've been rooting for them since I could walk. I'm a die-hard buffalo sports fan. Really all I want is to see one championship come to this deserving town, just one in my life time.

I am kinda torn, since i love the Sabres, but also the Senators.

So i'll have a team i like winning regardless.

But as for who will win the series, i dunno...gonna be a hard one to pick.

I'm gonna go with Ottawa though, as they were extremely solid against the Pens & the Devils, especially defensively, whereas i cannot say the same with the Sabres vs. NYI or NYR.

Buffalo = better depth, better team overall, but Ottawa is playing a better team game than any other team in the playoffs right now IMO.

I wouldn't have picked the Sens over the Sabres at the beginning of the playoffs, & i expect a very hard fought series, but the Sens haven't shown much weakness & the Sabres have.

You are a die-hard, just like me. I have been following the Wings / Tigers / Pistons / Lions / Michigan football since I was 8.

And most of the reason that I am rooting for Buffalo is because of what you said. The town deserves a championship.

May history repeat itself. Buffalo is 3-0 against Ottawa in the playoffs, with a record of 12-4. Last season, Ottawa was coming off a convincing 4-1 series win over Tampa Bay, where Buffalo struggled against a team they should have had no problems with, Philadelphia where the series went WWLLWW, before these two teams met. I like how that one turned out.

Same here, but only since age 11. Since moving to Texas a few years ago, I've also become a Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, Mavs, Texas (football) fan.

Anyway, back to NHL... Let's go Wings!

Wow.

Dom was awesome. SJ was mediocre, at best. I know they can bring better. Nabokov played as expected. Something held back SJs aggression/power/enthusiasm, something in their heads, I guess.

Congrats Wings.

Giggy will be easier this time. Bring the Finals!!!

Go Wings!

As a det fan, I'm glad I won't have to see Thornton, Grier, etc. pwning the boards anymore. San Jose was scary in deep I thought.
Looking forward to the last 3 series, whatever happens there should be some great games.

Would New York (Rangers) over Buffalo had been considered an upset?
