Yankee pitching is really horrid. They're even bringing up Phillip Hughes to start this week, even though they promised they wouldn't.

It's become a situation now. I think Hughes is the right move. Gotta get something going.

How the fvck does Mike Meyers give up a grand slam down the right field line? He practically pitches from first base.

Well, the Yankees are a half game behind the Devil Rays.

as a new yorker i am tired of all the talk about baseball everywhere. i can't wait till they tank and the baseball fad is over.

i know it won't go away. it's probably just a bad streak for them. they'll rebound, unfortunately for a non baseball fan like me

Phil Hughes, in his 2nd major league start has a no hitter going to the 7th inning.
Even if he doesn't get it, it's impressive.
Texas is a good hitting team too.

Wang is perfect through 7 innings... something special could happen today. Wang has been pitching well (duh!) but his defense today has been tremendous.

Ben Broussard hits a homer to break the perfect game. ah well.. This game shows how important Wang is to this rotation. They lose him they are dead meat.

Great start by Mussina (finally) and Proctor has no idea where the strike zone is.

Angels sweep. The Angels always give the Yanks a tough time. Proctor has for the most part been great this season for your boys but who knows what happened with him today. Bruney has been great for you. Would you have left Mussina in the game for another batter? The fans where booing Torre when he took out Proctor and it looks like the fans had enough of him.

Tough call, Moose was at 95 pitches and Torre wanted to get him out with a chance to win. But Proctor was putrid. Yankee bullpen leaves much to be desired, but then again, the Yankee season leaves much to be desired.

It's fun to kick the Yankee's fans when their down, but, it's inevitible that the Yanks will turn it around. Clemens will certainly be a help to that cause. The Mets will probably get a few key injuries in the second half and perhaps slide into the playoffs, etc. Meanwhile, the Yanks have folks that are injured that'll be coming back. Loooong way to go, and they've always got money to spend.

Hey, go for it. They suck now, no two ways about it.

I think its going to be impossible to catch the Red Sox at this point. They are playing so sky high now and they are getting back Beckett tonight who I think will pitch against the Yanks on sunday though I'm not too sure. The Red Sox don't exactly have the greatest lineup but you can see how they just play like a team and when guys like Youkilis hits an inside the park homer you just know things are going amazing for them.

What is also tough is that the Tigers and Indians are also excellent teams and you just cannot count out the White Sox and teams like the Twins and A's who both always seem to turn it up a notch in the second half. At this point I don't see the wildcard coming from the AL East unless the Yanks fix themselves up and makes a huge .700+ winning percentage run the rest of the season but is that realistic now? If the Yanks don't win this series against the Jays and lose the Red Sox series it may just be over at least in regards to finishing first in the AL East.


It is a long season and baseball is a crazy game so anything can happen but its looking bleak for the Yanks. Their postgame shows are so depressing too!

An outstanding pitching performance by Pettitte earns him a loss.

I've never said this before, because I am a fan of his and I realize it's not his fault, but Torre gotta go just for the sake of change.

Dude, don't sweat it. The Yankees have started off like this the last couple years now, granted not this bad. it's only a quarter thru the season, and there's a lot of games to be played yet. Besides, the Yanks are the only ones the Sox can beat spectacularly in the post-season!

You can't really blame Proctor for this one....or any of the pitching of late. If the yankees need to pitch nine innings of 2 run baseball to win games, it's over now.
