Yankees lose again, thanks to an anemic offense and Scott Proctor.
An outstanding pitching performance by Pettitte earns him a loss.
I've never said this before, because I am a fan of his and I realize it's not his fault, but Torre gotta go just for the sake of change.
how will a new manager change things? I think Torre is doing all he can. it is not his fault Abreau (sp?) is batting under .250 or having Arod sizzle down to below .300 or even the fact the Mr. Johnny Damon is not as offensive as he normally is. All a new manager will do at this point is add to the list of woes. Not only will they have to find themsleves out of their slump, but they will also have to adjust to a new a manager. Blame the office for not fixing their bullpen also. They praise pitchers like Mike Myers when in reality all he will give you in just one inning. It's the reason why the red sox no longer wanted him. Also, do they really think Clemens will be this hero? the guy will only pitch in...how many....20 games and he will be home for the rest of them? last I saw, they were close to 15 games out of first.
A new manager will shake things up. At the rate they're going now, that can only be a good thing. Of course it's not Joe's fault, but ultimately the buck stops with him and a change is needed. It really can't be worse than what is going on now.
Mike Myers has been a lefty specialist his entire career, that's not why Boston let him go. He always had alot of appearances but does not eat up innings, it's not his function. He's there to get the tough lefties out. When he's giving up grand slams to players like Carl Crawford, he's not getting it done. All he's there for is lefties. If he can't get them out he's dead weight.
Clemens will not be a savior, this team has much bigger issues than starting pitching. There is no logical explanation how a team with this kind of lineup forgets how to hit. they make these no-name pitchers look like Sandy Koufax.
