I said it months ago, that the Yanks would come back to win the division. Even when they were 16 games out.

Yankees are playing unbelievable baseball now.
I wonder how long they can keep this up?
They won 22 out of their last 29. Yeah okay, mostly against bad teams but they just swept Cleveland beating Carmona and Westbrook in the process.
Now with Joba Chamberlain being what Mo was to Wetteland, and with Phil Franchise being back on track things are looking up.

Oh yeah, they are tied for the wildcard lead and they are four (4) games back of Boston.

It wouldn't be out of the question for the Yankees to finish with the best record in Baseball. Amazing considering their 21-29 start.

2 games out in the L column with 12 or so games to go. Rest of our games against Toronto and Baltimore... I dont think its out of the realm of possibility that the Yanks win the division.

Just imagine if TB had held those leads they had against Boston last week... Would be about tied right now... Crazy considering the 14 1/2 game deficit in July!

The Red Sox's Magic number is 3 for the playoffs. They don't seem to care about the division title but instead giving their players rest and getting their starting rotation set-up for the playoffs.

I beg to differ. Everyone and anyone who follows the Yanks-Sox rivalry knows DAMN WELL that it is sticking Boston right in the ass to have given up the huge lead they had on the division that was "wrapped up" in May/June...

Forget the Yankees blowing the 3-0 series lead in 2004, blowing this lead has got to be in Boston's head and will be interesting to see how it plays out if they play each other in the ALCS.
