It isn't that anyone will be suspended or fined, but if I was a Ducks fan I wouldn't be too happy. Because, the officials don't like it when they really are unable to dole out punishment to players because they're stars and this is the playoffs, so they seem to always get back at the team deemed to be gooning it up by keeping their whistles in their mouths the whole next game. I wouldn't be surprised if Anaheim is watched very closely. If this is so, it could be the end of the Ducks.

pens/caps game is blacked out on VS. i can't believe i have to watch the game on comcast sports channel. they have the worst announcers in the world. i think i'll try to mute the game and stream mike lange over the internet. hopefully they won't be too out of sync.

Well..from what others have posted in that link - the caps probably would have a better chance at winning the lottery than winning the game.

WoW funny how the caps fans are crying about the refs before the game even started. You guys already making excuses for your defeat! Pens out play the caps in all 6 games and the only thing keeping them in this is Simeon Varlamov.

varlamov is a hoss. he's playing like fleury did in the playoffs last year.

i wonder if the pens will decide to hit anyone tonight. they seem to play better when they're checking, but that's been one area that the caps have dominated.

<- hoping someone lays out ovie. the pens have looked timid around him so far while crosby has been laid out a few times.

Hmm. I guess to start, you do realize that hockey has 6 players on the ice including a goalie. If Simeon Varlamov has been keeping the Caps in their games, then the Pens haven't been outplaying them since Varlamov (by your own statement) has been outplaying Fleury.

Secondly, Pittsburgh does have more options than Washington in that they have 3 strong lines where Washington really only has two and a small bit. Having said that Ovechkin has outplayed everyone in the playoffs this year with no exception. He has quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) been a scoring machine.

Thirdly, this has been the best series in my recent memory - so much firepower, so much quality goaltending, so many lead changes, so many overtimes, so many close games, etc... To make a statement like Pens out play the caps in all 6 games is ridiculous. Makes you look like a fanboy.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa so those are my teams in that order. Since I now live two hours north of Washington and all my other teams aren't in contention, I want to see Washington win and think they have a very good chance.
