I've hated that complaining from either side. Nobody should be complaining about this game whatsoever - one team never showed up and that was it. If you're going to bring it up as a sore spot - here you go - the Caps fans got some crazy idea that in game 3 when the team was up 2 games to none, that the league didn't want a team going up 3-0 and tilted a game easily in the Pens favor to make it more of a series. Re-watch that game and it is undeniable. The rest of the series there were some great battles (iffy calls on both sides), and 2 unfortunate game-winning goals going off their defensemen. The Caps just didn't have what it takes to overcome and put teams away - that's been a problem all year long for them as a bunch of skill guys and not enough hard-workers who battle to the net... a bunch of one-and done rushes and this is what you get in the end.

The Pens should feel lucky to get past this round just like the Caps should feel lucky to have gotten here on the strength of some 21-year old untested kid.

Wow . Did anyone from the caps show up to actually play tonight? Even the notorious superstar 1 man show on the caps wasn't excited - especially when he scored a goal [pretty lame one at that]. A frikken low level house hockey league could've beat the caps tonight - they were that bad. Even if I wanted the Penguins to win - it was still a pretty bad game.

I think Ovechkin is the more talented player. It seems that Ovechkin plays soft sometimes and then plays like a damn maniac. If he played full speed all the time, he'd be amazing. He seems to pick his spots though.

Who's better, Crosby or Malkin?

on the one hand Ovechkin might be better because he had to carry his team (if you think his teammates are that much worse) on the other you have Malkin potentially leaching from Crosby's spotlight...

Depends on what you're looking for.

IMO, as a pure goal scorer Ovechkin is much better. Crosby shines in that he does a better job of elevating the play of his teammates.

I don't think anything could have beaten that series though... it was definitely the best playoff series I've ever witnessed. (PIT vs WAS btw).

hopefully the Canes pull it off tonight and you'll have to settle for game 1 or 2.
