The Ducks honestly were much better than 8th seed. Honestly if they had played that way all year they would have been a 3 seed or higher.

What are your thoughts on stories like these where some felt the Canucks got cheated out of the playoffs? Personally, as mentioned before, I can't stand people blaming officiating about the outcome of a game but if it gets lopsided (like 10-vs-2 penalties in a game) then it's a problem. One team continuously being on the PK can't possibly climb such a mountain in a playoff game where every inch of ice is fought for. Every game counts.

The best games are the ones where the refs let them play it out, letting things go equally as long as they're not getting away with cheap hacks and blatant hooks that take away a golden scoring opportunity. Calling every tap to the stick or body contact chasing a puck down is ludicrous.

The one thing that just royally pisses me off about the playoffs is how penalties are called, if it's a penalty in the regular season it should be a penalty in the playoffs, yet those fuckwits keep the whistle in their pocket for a lot of that stuff.

i have no issues with this as long as the refs are consistent... this year they have been horrible which sucks

xSauronx I'll be cheering for Carolina, they have a tough task ahead of them!

On the west side, I will cheer for Chicago solely because they are the underdogs

so go Canes and go Hawks!

when we went into it, nobody i know expected us to beat boston, so we were thrilled when we won 3 in a row over them...and pissed that we played so lousy after that. even last night, while better, wasnt great. I was really, really disappointed in the second goal from boston, because our defense man left the net to allow the goal.

i think we have a good chance at beating the penguins, im looking forward to the next series, i just wish i could go to a game. no way in hell im spending $100 before i even get any beers out of it, however

Yes thank you for stating the obvious. As long as someone beats the Wings, thats all I care about. Whether its the Hawks, Pens/Canes I don't care. Wings fans are greedy bastards and nobody outside of Michigan and other bandwagon fans around the country who suddenly become fans of the best teams give a shit about the Wings or want them to win.

i went to a game vs jersey. im a broke college student that just had to fix my car

believe me, if i had a real job id go. i would have loved to see us beat boston here at home

well since the Caps got eliminated they finally spoke of their injuries:

Alex Ovechkin (groin pull since NYR game 4 & wrist both requiring pre-game injections)
Alexander Semin (broken thumb - no wonder he did jack with the puck)
Mike Green (shoulder - the same one Pronger hurt him on that made him miss nearly 20 games)
Tom Poti (broken foot)
John Erskine (broken foot)
Shaone Morrisonn (groin, ankle)

Lots of defensive coverage / mobility problems. Every team has injuries at playoff time, but this kind of stuff just opens your eyes. Personally I think if they had either Semin or Green at least contributing a little instead of zero, they would've been a whole lot better. So disappointing.
