Chatter on the radio around Pittsburgh is that if the Wings clinch tomorrow, the finals will start with games this Saturday & Sunday. Otherwise, it will start next Friday, June 5th.

I'm hoping the Wings clinch tomorrow. If they don't, the Penguins will lose their 'mo, sitting around for 9 days without playing. And the Wings will get a chance to rest up...

Malkin has assumed the stance of dominance. There is no stopping him unless Cam Ward can assume a more dominant stance. Then the world might explode.

the thing is, if cam actually gets the stance...hes a damn, damn good goalie.

if he doesnt, hes just ok.

edit: well hes not on fire, for sure. i cant believe he let that second goal in, that was horrible

yea, this is utter crap... if NBC is going to bod on the finals... then they better be prepared to drop everyhting for the finals... none of this whining crap about... summer sweeps and whine whine whine.

I just hope the Wings end it tonight so we can start the real fight on the weekend. I have been barely watching the Conference Finals, aside froma couple of the Pens games, but I am eagerly awaiting the Cup Finals. I'm so cheering for the Pens now. :thumbsup:

Im kinda curious what the pens scratch/dresses will be like for the finals...

Gonchar should be finally healed, so there is a chance we might go back to 6/12 instead of 7/11.

so... while I doubt peter sykora will be back in uniform this year (unless we like go down 2-0/3-0) because Satan has been a man on a mission since his return.
I'm wondering is pascal dupuis will make his return for this series, and how we might use him...

Talbot has been stellar on malkins line.
The staal line with cook and kennedy has been fabulous.
and I really like the way they have been 1.5 shifting crosby / malkin on the fourth line in place of the 12th guy...

so where would we put dupuis if he did dress?

This is all by design. If the Wings win today they have to start the Finals Saturday. If they lose then they play Saturday and then don't start the finals until a week from Saturday, probably with everybody healthy.
