I wont get into the bad officiating, it was kinda of expected, home team down 2-0, of course the NHL will hand it to them. If you think the 6 man on the ice call was it.. you are wearing blinders!
I better not hear another officiating complaint out of any pens fans after last night.
Seriously, short of the 6 man non-call there was really nothing spectacular that they missed. The only complaint we should hear is about how bad it has been, for both teams. Penguins won because:
-Pens pressured the Wings when they had the puck, wings didn't apply as much pressure.
-Pens jumped on the loose pucks, Wings expected them to back off once they were almost to the puck.
-Fleury played a better game than Osgood.
-Wings PK is atrocious in the playoffs.
-Wings passing was horrible (leading to a ton of give a ways, even when the Pens weren't pressuring them.
-Wings were trying for a lot of long ice passes that weren't connecting, which amazed me considering they were having trouble with the short ice passes.
The second period was a joke. Was Pittsburgh even on the ice? That said, they managed to come out of it clean and I think that really shifted the momentum their way.
