Great start to the new season. The team was laying down hits, being responsible with the puck, and held the top team from last year and one of the highest scoring offenses to 1 goal and 0/5 on the PP. Can't ask for much more than that.

Now if the Avs happen to beat my friends team I'll certainly talk some shit but that's about it.

BTW, Fedorov on D tonight (like in preseason), a ploy to try and neutralize the quick Canucklehead forwards by controlling the puck more.

^ crazy stuff... I've had long shifts and my heart beats stupidly fast... and I'm gasping for air hunched over on the bench. I've been surprised how much the body can take... who knows what really happened here. Just 19 years old... unbelievable.

I guess you guys don't get Versus up there. I paid for gamecenter live only to find out it wasn't available.. then I found out it was on VS. Doh.

The Caps were stifling and gave them no time to setup anything. The middle was completely clogged the entire night (except on that 1 goal when OV had to hand over his stick to a Dman). Even in the waning minutes players were trying to block shots. Good effort by Sergei Fedorov and the rest of the D.

You know what's funny though? Their previous record of holding their opponent to just 11-shots allowed - they lost 3-2.
