Gonna miss Lucas Krajicek........ I guess they made the trade because he will be UFA this year.

TB's defense is their big weakness this year... but outside of seeing him in an FLA jersey, I don't know anythign about that guy. Is he supposed to be a big upgrade?

Not really sure what type of D man he is. Lucas was a puck mover though.

Reading the article it looks like TB was wanting Lucas for a long time.

Canucks send Cody Hodgson back to Brampton Battalion.

Good move........ give him a year more experience in the "O". No need to rush him.

On a side note....... the Battalion have the ugliest jerseys around.

so what can you tell me about those guys?

morrison looks pretty good so far in the pre-season. hopefully his knee can hold up.

morrison looks pretty good so far in the pre-season. hopefully his knee can hold up.

Morrison has had 2 bad years injury-wise but he used to be the NHL Iron man with something like 580+ games played without missing one.

McIvar is a very tough D-man. Only seen him play a couple times last year from call ups.

Brown is a scrappy forward....... good guy to have on the 4th line. Lots of energy and willing to scrap.

well when you say that 6 teams are interested in a certain player then over the coming weeks you say that 2 more or 4 more or 8 more teams are also interested......... it's kind of like a shotgun approach to reporting........ your going to hit something eventually.

I prefer Spector when it comes to hockey rumors.

We make mucho fun of Ick there too, mainly because he's so often wrong and does not care as long as hockeybuzz gets web-traffic hits. Some other sources closer to some teams (e.g. Senators) post on the SN forums.


We make fun of Strachan & Kipreos too. :laugh:

Canucks Vs Flames Thursday Oct 9th 7:30 PST on CBC (very rare for a CBC game on a weekday).

Are they doing the tribute to Luc that game or was it the first preseason game that they did it at?

At first, I didn't like the direction Gillis was steering the team, but it looks like he's picked up some solid guys and we finally have some size for a change. I hope the Canucks pull through with a breakout season to overcome the crappy season they had previous.

As for Mo, he's a great player. Yes, he had a few bad seasons from injuries. I don't think he and Naslund were the same after Bertuzzi left. I hope he does well with the ducks. He's a decent face off guy, and has some good hands and can put them in the net. In the many shootouts the Canucks had to face, I think he did fairly well. McIver is a good scrapper and can bring some toughness to an already tough Anahiem bench. His goal last Sunday was pretty sweet though. Hopefully Anahiem works out for him too.

I was at my weekly poker game last night and one of my friends that plays in the game is a Leaf fan. I KNEW he was going to show up in his Leaf jersey, so I broke out my new Reebok Edge Lidstrom away jersey with the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals patch on it.

He kept saying "We're going to beat you tomorrow!" and I said "Make sure you tune in early so you can see a Stanley Cup Championship banner being raised!".
