24 hours from now, Detroit will be celebrating.

The chances that Pittsburgh wins this game is somewhere around 20%, and I think that is being generous.

The home team is 12-2 all time in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Here's what I believe are the keys to the game:

Pittsburgh will need to score first. Fleury beats himself up after giving up a goal in Detroit. You see it in his body language every time. He is easily deflated. Osgood is much more mentally tough than Fleury. Really, this is the biggest key. Fleury will make or break Pittsburgh tomorrow. He MUST play his best game of the playoffs and give up zero soft goals.

Pittsburgh must score at least three to win. Detroit has surrendered three or more goals at home twice this year in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh must have more power plays than Detroit. Detroit has given up 10 even strength goals in 12 home playoff games this year.

Pittsburgh must be tied or leading going in to the 3rd period. Detroit gives up VERY few 3rd period goals and has yet to surrender at lead going into the 3rd.

The fact of the matter is that Detroit dominates even strength play, especially at home. I am a Red Wings homer. But I also know the facts. This is Detroit's game to win.

He played an AMAZING game 6. wow, solid defensive effort.

My friend on my hockey team played with Scuderi in HS... he hated him. Syosset is 2 towns over.

If Scuderi's block and rebound resulted in a goal, it would have been better for him not to touch it because Fleury would have eaten up the first attempt.

Whenever a team is good, the fanbase grows. When they are bad, the "loyalists" disappear. 50% of the people out there are bandwagoners. The thing is, alot of people (myself included) have better things to do with their lives than get emotionally attached to a business which all hockey teams are.

Everyone talking about fan base should just shut up. There are two teams in the finals. You cheer for team A, team B or don't watch. Certain Detroit fans here really need to grow up. Quit acting like there are no bandwagon fans of Detroit. Half the people in the stadium tonight are going to be bandwagoners. So you might as well get some tickets to the game, go to it and tell the fans how much they all suck because they are bandwagoners.

Man the sports bar down town Ann Arbor will be full eye candy, and I will be full of beers enjoying the game. I really would like the Red Wings to win, but of they don't I am not going to let it get to me and ruin my night. It is a game and hope the better team wins, Detroit that is

I think nearly everyone here (Edmonton) is cheering for the Pens, but we all expect them to lose haha.

Should be interesting to see how packed the sports bar will be tonight.

I agree with both statements.

I think Melty brought out the worst in us with his put downs in his original post i.e. They don't know what an offsides was, all they do is shout "shoot", the organization lies about selling out the Joe and that you can buy tickets on ebay for any game. Well duh, you can buy tickets for the super bowl or Obama's inauguration 5 minutes before the event. All you need is cash.

All in all, I usually don't have a problem with Melty.

I think it is the correct choice. He's the best indivudal player on the ice. He just lacks a supporting cast.
