seriously though, they need this one. if they could give kobe almost a week to rest his back it would be fantastic. they've kept it close both times in utah thus far, hopefully they close the door tonight.

Man, watching game 4 of the Lakers series pissed me off. The starters were putting up huge numbers, but the bench were playing piss poor, missing shots and rebounds. They could've taken game 4 and finished Jazz with game 5.

Yup, that's why he's been 1st or 2nd team all-defensive how many years in a row now? It's obvious people hate the spurs because they win, but I love watching defense in basketball, that's why i like watching detroit and san antonio. Paul got away with a lot of stuff he was called for yesterday, that's why he was upset. And if it were anyone besides horry who set that pick, would we be even having this discussion?

Actually, I do like watching Detroit. They usually play a man-up, stout defense that is rock solid. It just feels more honest when I watch them. I love watching Tayshawn prince because he is a very solid CLEAN defender. The pistons are a good example of solid, all-around defense, and the Spurs are an example of "Get away with as much as you can, because they cant call EVERY foul" sort of defense.

Bowen hacks, slaps, and does everything he can hoping he can get away with it. The fact is that he is not a solid, all around defender. When was the last time you saw him block a shot? Steal a ball? When was the last time you saw an NBA player kick another player in the face? Stick their foot under the opposing players landing foot? Kick players while on the ground?

The spurs have a deep bench of role players. Is Oberto anything besides a fouling distraction that flops trying to draw fouls on the star players? Is kurt thomas anything but an annoyance who draws lots of fouls on the opposing players big man? The fact is that San Antonio has a deep bench which they can rely on to hack the crap out of teams. The refs cant call every foul the spurs make, and I truly believe that this is their underlying strategy. "KEEP FOULING, THEY CANT CALL EVERYTHING!"

Wow, you're filled with so much hate, it's not even funny. Seriously, you should choose another sport to watch - fuck, I don't even dislike the Celtics and Lakers enough to spew the kind of crap that just came out of your mouth.

Hey, ive never said that I didn't have a deep seated hate for the spurs. In fact I will be the first to admit I hate the spurs.

I will put my thoughts in the simplest terms I can think possible. The NBA is one of the only sports where the referees can easily decide the outcome of the game. The spurs are the only team i've seen where they FORCE the refs to decide the outcome of the game. All the way from their flops on every offensive play to their suspect defense. They use the referees judgment calls to their advantage on almost every possession. It may be a smart strategy, but its so annoying to watch that garbage.

Pierce is driving to the hoop, lebron is sliding along trying to cover, flops, and gets the Lebron James call. This is in the last few minutes of the game mind you. Also, with 20 secs left and the Cavs inbounding, they get the ball to Smith, who proceeds to travel, no call, and smith goes to the foul line to put them back up by 4 with 14 seconds to go.

It seriously was a disgrace. Forte = Joke of a ref

Another great game for the Cavs. Lebron shakes off his early-series woes to come back like this. Love it. This is GREAT basketball. Sucks for Boston fans though, heh.

However, I suspect Boston will come back and blow out the Cavs in Game 7; but I look foward to it.

EDIT: BTW Hubie Brown is by far my favorite color commentator. His analysis are spot on, he's very intelligible, a very well-liked former coach;... ESPN couldn't have gotten a better gold-mine of an analyst for their network.

The no-look from kobe to odom... the steal from fisher + continuation... the assist to kobe and he takes off for a 2-handed stuff.

This display of athleticism, determination, speed, body control is absolute art. Coupled w/ my intake of vicodin (prescribed..just got my wisdom teeth extracted) and the GREAT analysis of Hubie Brown has put me in some sort of absolute euphoria.

Well bad calls happen all the time, but I feel that it's the worst thing to do to make bad calls near the end when you're neck and neck and a team has an opportunity to make a comeback (ex: the most recent Lakers vs Warriors game).

Goaltending could've swung either way though right? My understanding is that it was closer toa block than goaltending because the ball needs to be coming down for a goaltending to be called. The charge was really lame. Ugh.
