Go Nuggets! Oh wait, sorry, they still have George Karl.

I'm thinking the Pistons will win it.

WTF is up with all these turnovers for Detroit. Pistons playing sloppy in the 3rd quarter.

Edit; Do the commentators love the Celtics? They're gushing all over "great plays."

Wow...Chauncey has some rust to shake off. Rasheed also needs to get his shot going, as does Ray Allen (well not so much Ray, since the Celtics are already leading).

Pistons lost the game in the 3rd quarter. Turnovers and stupid fouls. Garnet and Pierce played well.

On to Game 2.

lol, i'm getting schooled by a bandwagon Celtic's fan. funny Red, of all the time i've been around these forums i don't recall ever seeing you in an NBA discussion. i'm certainly happy that the Celtics are finally a respectable team and not the joke of a franchise anymore. and yes, the Detroit jokes are always rampant around playoff time, particularly by sore loser sports beat writers who console themselves after losing to the Pistons. i can only imagine the scores of Celtic "fans" who finally get to break out their moth-eaten Larry Bird jerseys and wear them around without getting laughed at.

how are they better w/o a healthy chauncey billups? Regardless, I expect KG to step it up and burn the pistons.

if he couldn't step up tonight and dominate the Cav's mediocre frontline, i highly doubt he'll get the better of Sheed, Dice, and Maxiell.

man, i love the playoffs
Game 1 Celts:thumbsup:

Well, KG definitely stepped-up his game lastnight. If Billups, Hamilton and Wallace don't step-up their games, the Celts may even win a road game.

love him or hate him, there is no question kobe turned it on in the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter and took over the game.

OMFG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LAKERS!!!!!!!!! One HELL of a 2nd half performance by the league MVP!! NICE Defense at the latter 1/5th of the game! C'mon, they have to do MUCH better in the next couple of games.

I was with my coworkers at a bar for much of the 3 quarters of the game. I left disgusted after I saw the Lakers were down by around 16 or so. I turned on the radio on the way home and the Lakers pulled within 7 by the 4th. I sped up a bit and RAN to the TV to catch the 4th..and oh MAN. I lost my voice. I'm way too ecstatic to even put on any sort of logical post right now.

Wow, great ending to that game. Lakers stole that win!

Edit: Also, check out Tnt's live web stream during the game here..
They've got 4 different camera angles - 1 camera from each end of the basket, 1 camera focused on kobe, and 1 camera on either ginobli, or parker. No commentary though, but it's pretty interesting to watch.

Not going to lie, I was really worried and it looked like the Spurs contained and controlled Kobe. I was wrong, so wrong .

I love what Popovich said at the end of the game:

"Kobe, he was doing a trust-his-teammates thing in the first half"

"That's why he had five assists, and he was checking it all out and see where his territory was going to be. In the second half, he went to work."

I think it's funny people are saying Kobe took over the game - the only way he took it over was taking advantage of the calls in the 4th. Once the Spurs stopped shooting well and stopped being aggressive - which wasn't the defensive effort of the Lakers - the refs were spreading the home court love to the Lakers. Understandable, but to state that Kobe simply took over is simply absurd. The Spurs collapsed for no reason at all, and it was rather pathetic.

Spurs collapsed for no reason? Kobe coming out of the cage in the 2nd half and fucked them up w/ the mad skills, coming back from the 20 point deficit, that's what paralyzed the Spurs, and took the confidence outta them. Name me another player that can single handedly bring his team back from a 20 point deficit in a playoff game, against the defending champ. Jordan.

And don't make me laugh w/ your home court love BS. Spurs are notorious for getting away w/ everything w/ the cheap shots no matter where they play. I'm surprised Bowen didn't plant his feet under Kobe when Kobe got on fire in the 3rd quarter.
