Kobe still isn't a team player and it will show when the loose the next game, he's only a Laker when they're doing well I have no respect for him what so ever.

He's pretty good though. Top 10 alltime perhaps?
Perhaps, maybe even top 5.

Good job Celts...damn, that was Laker's game to lose. Congrats to you Boston fans for the NBA Championship. Let a sad laker fan be . As of now, it looks the Lakers are outmatched, and the Celt's defense has been severely underrated by the Lakers.

I've never bagged on you Celt's fan, but I read a ton of you guys saying a lot of vulgur things about a team that I really grew up to love and follow with a lot of passion. To tell you the truth, those kind of posts do offend me, but oh well..it's all in the spirit of being fans, and as fans, we live for these moments.

Just let me swallow this game, and again, congrats on the NBA championship. It was well deserved, and a long-time coming for the celt's fans. Congrats to KG for finally getting one.

I hope there's a rematch next year! can't wait (sigh another year?! ).

The Lakers played so bad in the second half that for a professional team that made the NBA finals it could only possibly be described as deliberate; I mean you literally have to try to play that bad to play that bad.

Pierce has had the unenviable task of guarding Kobe, so I'd say he's frontrunner for MVP if the Celts can close it out.

Except Ray Allen guarded for kobe for the whole series except the 2nd half of game 4.

David Stern told Buss, West, Kupchak, Phil Jackson, and Bryant that it's not their time this year.

there's no excuse. sigh, it sucks that a simple basketball game couldn't get me to sleep. I just woke up because of a nightmare of the repeated scenes from last night. I couldn't go back to sleep because my head was swimming in the Laker's awful performance . I really didn't want this season to end this way, but oh well. It was one hell of a ride, and I should be greatful for it

Don't be too upset, the lakers aren't out of this yet. In any case, I can see the Lakers making a dynasty in the coming years with the team they've got:

* odom
* bryant
* bynum
* gasol

Importantly, the lakers are a relatively young outfit, coached by the arguably the best coach of all time (though I like to chuck in my man Coach Brown into such conversations ) in a western conference where the spurs are going to drop off cause of their age and the suns/mavericks not really standing much of a chance, whereas NO needs time for CP3 and west to become championship calibre players and portland still some time away from being competitive.

I remember you saying earlier in here that you didn't think the Lakers were going anywhere after the first round. Well you were wrong.

I don't think it's so bad. They did way better than a lot of people expected this season. But I really want to see them win on Sunday just for proof that they didn't go down easily after being down 3-1.

No that wasn't me. Ya, I hope the Lakers will win on Sunday and have a graceful end in Boston. And ya, I did say that the Lakers weren't going anywhere after the first 1-2 rounds. I really thought the Lakers were just too young to have the intestinal fortitude to carry on. I was gladfully proved wrong there . I should be happy, hehe.

Congrats to you Boston fans. I hate your guts, but that's the spirit of being a fan of professional sports. It's a absolute joy and wonder to see these amazing world-class athletes compete in such a stage with that much passion and to see fans rally behind them.

I'll be honest though. I can only give out much respect to the Celtics fans who rallied and stuck behind him; even after 20 years of horrid performances of such a storied franchise. I hate you Boston fans, but again, I have much respect for a city that sticks with their teams through DECADES of failure (20 years of glum for the celtics, and too many for the Red Sox). I hope that we can shittalk with each other again next year I still hate you guys. Let me just have at least that hehehe.

You're absolutely right. I should have a feeling of optimism. I just feel for Kobe, since he's 30 next year; and not getting any younger. This absolutely puts a dent on his legacy, and Kobe haters have more ammo to tell him he's not the greatest, and can only be a shadow of what Jordon ever was...

Yeah, I don't see Magic, Jordan, or Bird losing a 20+ lead in the second half.

But Kobe did.

Incredible defense by Vujacic on Ray Allen!

Seriously, where are all the dchebags that said the Celtics couldn't play D, when they were one of the best in the league?

2008 CELTICS = GREATEST FINALS COMEBACK OF ALL TIME. or

2008 LAKERS = GREATEST CHOKE OF ALL TIME. However you want to look at it.

LOL I love people saying the Lakers didn't choke last night, that was easily the biggest comeback in Playoff history, there's no other word to describe loosing a 24 point lead!

EPIC FAIL! Lakers loose it Sunday @ home, there's no coming back 3-1, it won't even end 4-2, 4-1 with the Staple Center being stunned. I was JOKING about Kobe being the greatest of all time, I don't even think he's top 10 simply because he hasn't learned how to be a team player much yet, he's getting better about but he still can't lead his team to victory unless HE scores 30+ points. He's not Jordan, Magic or Bird. He's good but has some growing to do.

if Lakers somehow win the next 3 it will be EPIC FAIL for the Celtics.

Boston took three quarters to erase their deficeit. LA did it in one in game 2. LA was within 2 points of tying with less than 40 seconds on the clock. They made up 24 points in 8 minutes. Not 30. Now that would have been a monumental choke.

As for Kobe. The guy just can't catch a break. He doesn't score a single field goal in the first quarter and his team posts the single highest point difference in the first quarter for a finals game. And he gets no credit for it even though he had like 5 assists. Kobe didn't cause blown assignments by Vujacic and Farmar. He didn't miss the free throws that Gasol did. He wasn't Derek Fisher and made the bonehead play of stepping on the line for a 2 instead of a 3. He wasn't Radmonavich who just let Ray Allan make a layup instead of going for a hard foul.

It's because he's an asshole. At this point he could save drowning puppies from a burning orphanage and I'd still dislike him.

You know with the ref fixing games story in the news and how completely nonchalant Kobe was in his post game interview coming off like they were supposed to lose so it was no big deal I really would not put it out of the realm of possibility that outcomes are rigged by the NBA particularly in the finals.

I mean from all appearances the Lakers came out of half time looking like and playing like a team that was supposed to take a dive and did.

You're right it *would have* had the Lakers actually done it, close but no cigar. As it stands, last nights game enters the Lakers into the NBA Final's hall of shame, Celtics did the almost impossible and they won fairly easily after they caught up. Sucks to be on Kobe's team, I love Fisher but I don't like his captain. They should have never got let Shaq go, that was a stupid move on their part

they were still down by 20ish in the 3rd, so you could argue it took the celtics one quarter to comeback.
