**OFFICIAL** 2008 NBA Playoffs thread

I'm really not into this series at all like I thought I'd be. Maybe it's because of the crooked refs, because Tiger is so much better to watch, or just because I'm not really a big fan of either team. No doubt it's a combination of all those factors. But the fact that all the NBA refs are under suspicion is a big deal, hard to tell if any of these games are legit. NBA refs have always been pretty bad, but now everytime someone makes a bad call you wonder a little bit if that ref has any money involved in the game.

the refs didnt give this game away to the Lakers, and the Celtics down the stretch didnt help (pierce's turnover, garnett could've dunked instead of a tip to get that 2 pointer, missed FTs, etc) but that said, the Lakers probably will NOT win this series. the Laker D has been dismal, they will not win playing like this in boston, more like getting beat by 15-25 if they had the same bad shot selection and porous defense on Tuesday.

and dont get me started on their rebounding.

Yeah it's surprising to see a Phil Jackson coached team not improve on anything in the playoffs. Guess they just can't handle the Celtics. Anyone picking the Lakers to win the series right now is a dope.

yeah lakers looked like shit, im not a fan of either but would prefer lakers to win

Even though the Lakers won, it felt like the Celtics were winning in the 4th up until the game got out of reach. Strange.......

KG serisouly needs to take a lot of the blame for this game. He had a lot of mental lapses. The killer though was the two missed freethrows.

it was an ugly game. I just felt the Laker delayed the inevitable. Sigh, at least the Celtics won't be celebrating in my town . Congrats Celts.

me too. i like kobe, fisher, odom and gasol (the latter 2 are too inconsistent to deserve the ring in this series) and i like phil jackson too. but i also want the big 3 in the celtics to FINALLY get a ring that they deserve.

it's quite a dilemma for me (but im still a knick fan lol) i guess i would like Boston to take it this year, then when Bynum returns next year the same Laker team to go all the way.

actually lots of players have their kids out their during the post game qa. Espn news only happens to show post game stuff for the finals. NBA TV occasionally shows it during the season and you see players with their kids out there.

LA needs to actually play D to win.
Celtics need someone other than Pierce to play.
KG needs to seriously step it up. I'm beginning to realize why he never made it far in Minny as the star.
Celtics will close this out in Game 6.
I hope Kobe never wins another title in his career...wishful thinking sadly I fear.
I hope to never have to watch a Walton 2 Walton interview again.....what a lot of low talking and mumbling going on....just weird.

Yeah I think you're right on that. Sad part was Ray Allen rushing to see his sick kids on fathers day He deserves a championship ring. Class act all the way.

I'm pretty much thinking that too. It will be interesting to see what sort of intensity Gasol and Odom come out with tonight. They figured out how to crack Garnett's aura of intimidation last game and attacked. If they can keep working that angle the game will be a lot more managable.

It's going to very hostile for the Lakers tonight. Usually when that happens Odom disappears, as well as the Lakers' bench.
