Kobe still hasnt won a title without Shaq.

Lets say Kobe and Lebron James traded teams. How far do you think the Cavs would go then? How far would the lakers go?

Either way you flip them, they still have a lame duck bench that fails to show up for every game. I think it's pretty apparent by now that "One man teams" can be very effective in regular season games where the other team doesn't have ample time to plan or regroup around that player.

But in a best of 7, good coaching can collapse around and shut that player down forcing the other 12 players on that bench to step up and make plays. Neither Lebron or Kobe had players around them to help carry the load for 7 game series.

One man teams? The lakers have Pau Gasol! They got him for free, dont you remember this? I would hardly call the lakers a one man team.

The Cavs definitely have a lame duck bench. I would not say the same for the lakers. They had everything they needed this year to get a Championship (Great clutch player, great big man, great role players). It just seemed like Kobe didnt step up when he needed to and Lamar Odom crawled into a cave, never to be seen again.

I hate the Lakers (Big Suns fan), but even I can admit that they are a stacked team. They have a great starting five, but I think they rely too much on Lamar Odom. That guy is about as reliable as Amy Winehouse. They should have traded him with Kwame Brown

Not keep this thread needlessly spinning, but Gasol was pretty inneffective for all but one game this series. In game 5 he actually asserted himself. In every other one he was getting manhandled in the paint. And for a 7 foot guy he had like one block for the entire series. And his free throws sucked too.

James Posey and Powe for Boston had more of series changing impact than Gasol did.
