Gift-sol is more or less garbage as a defensive center. The presence of Bynum would change their interior defense quite a bit. Maybe next year.

You guys are throwing around the "choke" word too much. The Lakers had a great first half, the Celtics had a great second to match. Overall, a pretty even game as far as I'm concerned, it's just that each team peaked in a different half. Now if the Lakers were up by 24 in the 4th and lost, then yes, you could use the word all you wanted.

That aside, there's no way the Lakers come back from this hole with 2 games to play in Boston. Now the sports world will have to put up with Boston fans and their loud mouths for another year.

EDIT: I also think Pierce has a better argument for being Finals MVP rather than Allen.

You forgetting the Lakers were able to get it back up to 20 half-way thru the 3rd Qtr.

Allen has been good in all 4 games while Pierce laid an egg in game 3.

Although to be honest, I do tend to associate "choking" in sports with a more sudden turn of events that blows a game near the end. What the Lakers did tonight was more like a prolonged drowning.

But anyway, congrats to L.A. on their 1st half win.

I just checked out the box scores, and you're right. I was thinking Allen didn't contribute much in one of the first 2 games, but I was wrong. At least he showed up for the Finals, he didn't give much help in the rest of their series if I'm not mistaken.

Good job Celts...damn, that was Laker's game to lose. Congrats to you Boston fans for the NBA Championship. Let a sad laker fan be . As of now, it looks the Lakers are outmatched, and the Celt's defense has been severely underrated by the Lakers.

I've never bagged on you Celt's fan, but I read a ton of you guys saying a lot of vulgur things about a team that I really grew up to love and follow with a lot of passion. To tell you the truth, those kind of posts do offend me, but oh well..it's all in the spirit of being fans, and as fans, we live for these moments.

Just let me swallow this game, and again, congrats on the NBA championship. It was well deserved, and a long-time coming for the celt's fans. Congrats to KG for finally getting one.

I hope there's a rematch next year! can't wait (sigh another year?! ).

I remember you saying earlier in here that you didn't think the Lakers were going anywhere after the first round. Well you were wrong.

I don't think it's so bad. They did way better than a lot of people expected this season. But I really want to see them win on Sunday just for proof that they didn't go down easily after being down 3-1.

I know it's not going to happen but I'd like to see the Lakers win the next 2 in Boston and come back home only to loose the final game in the last second when Kobe misses a shot. Then he can go on a rampage like he did at the start of the season about "I hate the Lakers, TRADE ME!" I know they would never trade him but I love when he wines like nothing is his fault and his team sucks.

Kobe still isn't a team player and it will show when the loose the next game, he's only a Laker when they're doing well I have no respect for him what so ever.

Kind of Ironic how Shaq already has another ring since leaving the Lakers and the greatest of all time Kobe doesn't.
