Seriously?

If you're referring to me, I said all-time greatest drives. Coming from your own 17 to throw a miracle pass to move down field and eventually find your star receiver in the endzone to pull off what may be football's most shocking upset with seconds left? Yes, one of the greatest drives.
Eli doesn't deserve "all time" status.

Please remind me of who kept that drive alive, during both times of desperation.

Do you know him? He's a no-name, unlike Manning.
The man who kept it going was David Tyree. The man who will not be remembered for anything in this game.

A great catch he made but let's not mistake fumbling the ball around before the catch as meaning the ball being poorly thrown. The drive deserved all-time status and Eli led it.

I'm done with you anti-Eli idiots. I don't get it. He won the Super Bowl, and the whole MVP issue is a footnote anyways and means about as much as who wins the Pro Bowl.

You are very wrong. On NY Radio that's all I'm hearing. Tyree made on of the all-time immortal superbowl catches.

He didn't make many glaring errors, but since your commenting on the 58 minutes - his offense scored 10 points. Maybe he didn't throw 5 interceptions, but the last time I checked scoring 10 points isn't exactly a stellar performance. In fact, it's pretty unimpressive.

Again - congrats to the Giants. The team, especially the defense, turned in a great performance. Too bad it will be forever marred by an undeserving MVP award.

His offense scored 10 points and the greatest offense of all time, led by one of the greatest QB of all time scored 7 points (prior to the last drive). So what exactly are you trying to prove?

Perhaps you need to give credit to a good defense that has been effective all year in the red zone?

Fine, one more comment. Did you read anything I wrote, or just where I insulted Eli? I AM giving creidt to the Giants team. I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win the game. I'm discrediting Eli as MVP.

Wow. Seriously. I understand it's a bitter pill to swallow that Eli has a SB ring and MVP before Romo, but really dude.

Did you not see Eli miraculously escaping three defensive lineman? He kept that alive and at least gave Tyree a chance, who made an amazing catch.

Why hate so much? Just face the fact that the Cowboys failed when it counted, just like the Patriots. Move on to the next season.

As for the MVP goes, I agree that the whole defense should have been the MVP, but that's not possible. Was there any standouts on defense or offense? This win was more of a team effort than any one player.

Congrats to the Giants and their fans, their D-line play in the game was just outstanding.
I don't know where the "Brady choked" comes from though, he just got flat out pounded
by 300+lb linemen who played their asses off. Not totally surprised though as the G-men
made Tony Romo, Bret Farve, and Jeff Garcia all play like shit. You can put Johnny f-ing
Unitas back there but if he's getting rag-dolled by the opposing D-line chances are it's
gonna be a long day..

So the ball was poorly thrown, but he still caught it? So that speaks well for Eli?
Man you're like a Barry Bonds apolgist, except the other way around.

Do you know why it was 'miraculous'? Because that was the first time Eli ever escaped that type of pressure, and on top of that, then he completed a pass! I was, as well as the entire Giants nation, surprised it wasn't picked off.

Can you honestly tell me that Eli Manning is a great QB, and even one of the greatest QBs of Super Bowl or NFL history? The kid goes from a mediocre bumish QB to an immortal hero in one drive?

Wow, it seems like Eli has just inherited Roethlisberger's mantle of being despised and called overrated for no apparent reason, other than jealousy. I'm not sure what more is expected out of these guys.

As a football fan, I didn't like Eli's draft day stunt either, but after that, you really can't complain about the guy. Unless he owes you money or ran over your dog or something, how can you possibly hate someone you've never met and is by all accounts a good guy. I think SD is certainly happy with the trade, and while the trio of players that have looks way better on paper, Eli just won a SB for the Giants, so there is no way they can regret the trade.

I don't think he became an immortal QB. But I think he he should have shut the haters up. He played great postseason football this year. He made plays when he needed to. He didnt make mistakes. He showed that he's more than just a QB who the team can win in spite of. He shouwed he can step up, take the team on his shoulders and go downthe field in clutch time. I don't what more anyone can ask of a QB.

I don't get that comparison. Roethlisberger played a terrible superbowl, and his team won that game in spite of him. I don't think anyone disputes that. Eli played a very good Superbowl. I am not a Big Ben hater at all, but the difference in this case is glaring.

get ahold of your self and calm down. That was one of the greatest drives I've ever seen, I didn't say he was the greatest QB. Sheesh. And I like how you give Eli zero credit for escaping the defenders. And how was that a poorly thrown throw? Too low and it might've been picked off. The receiver got both hands on the ball and it landed right between his two hands. Only after he caught it did he relase with one hand and hold it with his helmet. I can't believe you give Eli zero credit for that drivef.

I love how all the drunk football fans came together in this thread for a giant flameware (myself included).

Maybe things will be different in the morning?
