Wow, it seems like Eli has just inherited Roethlisberger's mantle of being despised and called overrated for no apparent reason, other than jealousy. I'm not sure what more is expected out of these guys.
I don't get that comparison. Roethlisberger played a terrible superbowl, and his team won that game in spite of him. I don't think anyone disputes that. Eli played a very good Superbowl. I am not a Big Ben hater at all, but the difference in this case is glaring.

You are very wrong. On NY Radio that's all I'm hearing. Tyree made on of the all-time immortal superbowl catches.
Am waiting impatiently for the clip to appear on youtube...
It's on Giants.com if you want to see it.

Oh yea... going for it on 4th and 13. Will haunt Belichick for all eternity.
Especially since they lost by a FG.

I was referring more generally to the attitude against them. They're both successful young QBs who face an undo amount of criticism for reasons I don't understand. Big Ben had a bad superbowl, but played well through the playoffs that year and got a lot of help from a really good defense, just like Manning did. From what I've observed of both of them, they both seem like decent people, yet they attract alot of negative feelings, at least on this board.
On the other hand, they 3rd high profile qb pick from that draft was Rivers, who people seem to have no problem with, despite many recorded instances of acting like a jerk.

I can't wait to watch the interviews with Belichick, Brady, Moss, Welker, and all of the other Patriots.
I'm also looking forward to interviews with Tiki Barber.

I've seen harder catches.. but not in that situation (Super Bowl, not much time left). What also made that play even more spectacular was how Eli escaped that sack.
