GIANT UPSET BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that was the best game ever! I called Eli as MVP days before, and yes, all I got was a cookie, but still.... the Giant's D and Eli and a few extraordinary catches just took the wind out of the Patsie's sails.

<---- Cloud 9 here this morning!!!!!

And why isn't the Monday after the SB a holiday? If I run for President that will be my platform.

Mosh darlin...you'll have my vote. Can I subscribe to your newsletter?

Not a fan of either team, so all I wanted to see was 60 minutes of good, hard-fought football...I wasn't disappointed! My hat's off to the Giants defense. They kept the Pats from scoring many times, forced the turnovers that kept giving Eli more opportunities to score, and in general humiliated "The Brady bunch."
Can't take anything away from Eli and the offense either. They were the underdogs going into this match-up and they did a fine job with the vaunted Patriots defense trying to grind them down.
It was a fine game.

Agreed. That catch will be immortalized.

I've seen harder catches.. but not in that situation (Super Bowl, not much time left). What also made that play even more spectacular was how Eli escaped that sack.

yeah, its not really that amazing of a catch, its the total play...

the fact that Manning was one drop in the cup from overflowing into a sack but somehow escaped only to find Tyree and to put the ball into a position where Tyree could catch it despite the coverage, and then for Tyree to actually hang onto that catch through the hits all the way to the ground...all with time running low and the game on the line at a crucial point in the drive...

all those factors together make it an amazing and memorable play, not just the catch...

as I posted somewhere earlier....I retract all of the shit-talk I slung at Eli up until this point (including "The Giants will never win with that d-bag Eli at the helm."

That was major balls. Can't have anything but respect for a play like that. Something Brady has never, and will never be able to pull off. He crumples like a baby when an End or a Lineman approaches him within 5 feet.

I'm a huge Rivers fan, so have a natural dislike for Eli and his pissant dad (well...who wouldn't?); but his play tonight was immortal. I hated having to pull for him and the Giants, but congrats to them. That was classic. Still, The Giants D should have gotten the MVP. Eli had a few great plays, and didn't make mistakes, but the D won that game.

"Crumples like a baby"?? Oh, OK QB's are supposed to wrestle with 300lb linemen, then throw the ball right?
Brady HAS pulled it off and has 3 rings to show for it! Hats off to the G-men for their stunning upset but calling
Brady a loser is just pathetic..

Watched the game last night at one of the casinos' bar. It was a good game until the very end.

I almost won a Sony HTDV, the winner number was 685 and my number was 684...so close.

Until next year. Hopefully my Dolphins won't be so bad next season.

This from a Boston Globe article:

"We had a great season, we just didn't win the game," said Brady, who appeared less then 100 percent healthy, but would not make excuses regarding injury. "Tonight doesn't take away from anything we have done over the course of the season. It's just unfortunate that tonight turned out the way it did."

The heck? Did he appear hurt to anyone? He seemed to be 100% healthy to me.

Tom Brady is a saint - if he doesn't play well, he must not be healthy. I'll bet it was that naggy shoulder injury that has kept him on the injury list for the last 3 years or so.

The best thing about this thread and all of the other threads the Pats trolls invaded is that it will always be good for a laugh, especially how Capt. et al predicted a blowout

I wouldn't say that. He's keyed to winning and when he doesn't he's down and unhappy. It hurts, he can't hide from it, can't take his mind off it. I saw the short interview he did right after the game and he didn't come off as a jerk at all.

That goes for a whole lot of players and teams in the NFL. It's downright embarrassing to see that. You can maybe start celebrating when you get the lead (but that's debatable). To start celebrating before taking the lead is foolish.

He did have an ankle injury. They also said at the top of the show that he was healthy, but stated earlier in the week he was not 100%. I wanted to see the 19-0, but am not a Pats fan. The Giants played a great game, give them their props.

Brady and Brady Sr said the "ankle injury" was a little tweak and nothing serious. it would never have been mentioned again had they won. I really don't think if his ankle was "untweaked" that it would have changed the game at all.

Was re-reading Plexico's prediction of 23-17 Giants and Brady responding that they will score more than 17 and plexico should have spotted them over 30.

Bet Brady would take that GENEROUS 17 points plexico offered now.

Ticker-tape parade in NYC tommorow.

Many people in the media and on internet forums comment that the Patriots failed to equal the 1972 Dolphins. If I remember correctly, the Dolphins went 17-0 that year. To me that means that the Patriots equalled this when they went 17-0 themselves, and bested it when they went 18-0 two weeks ago. By losing the Superbowl, they simply did not achieve 19-0 and get the trophy but they had already achieved better than the Dolphins. To me, the numbers don't lie. It's like when someone achieves a new record in the high jump by, let's say, jumping 8"3" when the previous record was 8'2". Even if he/she gets beaten in the next round and looses the gold medal, the record still belongs to that person as having had the best jump ever (until it too is beaten).

So the way I see it, a team will have to get a 19-0 record at one point to best what the Pats achieved this season.

Go Vikings!!!

18-0 is meaningless if you don't bring home the hardware.
Though I sese you are a Vikings fan so I know you know nothing about football

the 72 dolphins didn't lose a game that season

the patriots th is year did.

also, 18-0 doesn't mean squat without a superbowl victory.

EDIT:

17-0 was an undefeated season.

18-1 was not.
