Man that is a bad call. That should have been a goal. That puck wasn't even in a gray area, it was chilling in the net for at least a second before the whistle blew too. PROTIP for NHL Goalies : If you're going to let it in, hide it and make it difficult to see :\

I can understand "intent to blow" but I would interpret that as The shot hit the goalie and the goalie is scrambling and they lose sight of the puck in the scramble between goalies, defensive and offensive players.

Rallying from big deficits, scoring timely goals with the clock winding down. These are the kinds of dramatics that helped the Carolina Hurricanes reach the Eastern Conference finals last season.

They're also the kind of meltdowns that have left the Toronto Maple Leafs as the NHL's worst team.

Was in Buffalo for Thanksgiving and attended the Canes game (front row 200-level seats :thumbsup where Ryan Miller absolutely stone-walled Carolina, including the amazing stop on old man Brind'Amour, until the Sabres went off in the third with 5 goals (making it two straight games for the Canes entering the 3rd with a lead, only to give up 5 goals :biggrin.

Then watched Miller shutout the Laffs last night. Miller = gold medal for USA + Vezina.

Sens and Sharks tonight. Should be a great game. My Sens need to get their groove back on. And shutting down that little traitor Heatley is a great way to start haha. I will admit our trade is looking better now then at the beginning of the season I really wish we had taken someone not so Thornton dependent as Cheechoo though. Brian Elliot needs to keep being great.

The Canes are only the second team in NHL history to be outscored 5-0 or worse in the third period on consecutive nights. Vancouver also shares that "honor" in their games against Detroit (7 goals) and Philly (5 goals) in 1998.

It's only fair in how the Chosen Team of the NHL the last few seasons has had a few bad calls in their favor.


Osgood poking Riberio in the eye at the end of a game and not getting called for it then acting like a pussy when Riberio retaliates. Things like that.
But it happens to every team.

Sharks get past the Blackhawks tonight. 3-2 victory despite being outshot by a ridiculous margin 47-14. I don't remember the exact number, but the sharks were at something like 7 shots into the second period to the hawks 20?

It was a fun game to watch, the Sharks actually looked like they had something to prove. It was also the first game I've been able to watch in awhile (of any team) as it's been on TV at a time I can watch it :thumbsup: wooo!

Well, we're past the halfway point and I have to say I am pleased with Buffalo's season. They're 1st in the division and 2nd in the conference. They have the leading Vezina candidate and a strong contender for the Calder. Most things are clicking right now. I just wish their offense was more potent, and, on a similar note, their PP. They still haven't found a way to get Ottawa out of their heads yet, which could be disastrous should the two teams meet in the playoffs.
