That would be a tough call, but yes. It would depend on my existing WR/RB situation in the league, though.

See my roster posted above.

In your case I wouldn't want to trade away McFadden, and would keep your current receiver lineup. Not sure about Harvin one way or another, but I would rather hold onto him for now. I think you don't really need either Houshmandzadeh or Larry Johnson as a backup, and I see more potential with your current RB and WR. If you can get Housh without having to trade away McFadden, I would go for it.

i like it, both LJ and mcfadden play on terrible teams. mcfadden isnt a clear cut starter, LJ is. harvin is still unproven, he might blow up but i think housch will be good as the number 1 in seattle and more consistent. i also think that housch is better than moss and becomes your wr3. LJ is your backup and depth in case williams or portis gets hurt.

the way i see it, is you upgrade a starting slot by giving up 2 bench slots. you only score points on the guys you start, so i like the trade. keeper league, different story.

How do you think my draft turned out? 10 team league, 2RB, 2WR, 1 flex, not a ppr. I'm pretty happy, except for the risk at QB.

1. (5) DeAngelo Williams
2. (16) Chris Johnson
3. (25) Reggie Wayne
4. (36) Kevin Smith
5. (45) T.J. Houshmandzadeh
6. (56) Antonio Gates

11. (105) Ray Rice
12. (116) LeSean McCoy

I think you have a very solid team. QB is fine; it's better to have waited for a tier 2 QB and used your first couple of round picks on excellent RBs and WRs, which you did. I like your choice for benched/backup players as well, though I personally would drop Bennett if there are any better players on waiver.

Thanks. Who would you start week 1? I'm leaning toward Hasselbeck, based on good preseason performance.

Yeah, I'd go for Hasselbeck, as well, and the matchup is favorable for week 1 (St. Louis).

QB choice is ok, your WRs are ok (though not what I would consider tier 1, Ocho and TO are still quite good), your RBs are very good (nice work), your TE is good, your kicker is good (though you might need to swap him out later, but that's usual), your defense is decent, and I think your benched players are good players with upside (Harvin, Washington, Nicks, and Gage are all players I took myself on my different teams).

You have a very good team overall, especially for a 14 team league.

Team #1 (14 man league, old school points system, Non-PPR, auction format draft):
Starters:
Peyton Manning (Ind - QB)
Wes Welker (NE - WR)
Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)
Jason Witten (Dal - TE)
Devin Hester (Chi - WR)
Willie Parker (Pit - RB)
Robbie Gould (CHi - K)
San Diego (SD - DEF)
Bench:
Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)
Beanie Wells (Ari - RB)
Domenik Hixon (NYG - WR)
Ted Ginn Jr. (Mia - WR)
Le'Ron McClain (Bal - RB)
Josh Morgan (SF - WR)

Team #2 (12 man league, 9th Pick, Non-PPR, standard rules)
Starters:
Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
Randy Moss (NE - WR)
Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)
Kellen Winslow (TB - TE)
Pierre Thomas (NO - RB)
T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Sea - WR)
Robbie Gould (Chi - K)
New England (NE - DEF)
Bench:
Julius Jones (Sea - RB)
Beanie Wells (Ari - RB)
Matt Hasselbeck (Sea - QB)
Laveranues Coles (Cin - WR)
Leon Washington (NYJ - RB)
Fred Taylor (NE - RB)
Peyton Hillis (Den - RB)

Team #3 (12 man league, Standard Scoring, Non-PPR, 9th Pick)
Starters:
Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
Randy Moss (NE - WR)
Marques Colston (NO - WR)
Brandon Jacobs (NYG - RB)
Joseph Addai (Ind - RB)
Chris Cooley (Was - TE)
Hines Ward (Pit - WR)
David Akers (Phi - K)
Minnesota (Min - DEF)
Bench:
Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ - WR)
Willis McGahee (Bal - RB)
Jake Delhomme (Car - QB)
Isaac Bruce (SF - WR)
Edgerrin James (Sea - RB)
Michael Vick (Phi - QB) NA

I am happiest with team #3. All I gotta say is the auction format is so much better than drafting format. So much more competition and decisions to make. Those extra 2 teams (12 man vs 14 man leagues) really makes a difference!

So what do you all think?

Anyone buying the Cadillac Williams hype now that he's named the "starter"? Even though it's probably gonna be more of a 2-2-1 split for carries in that platoon deal. He's good if he stays healthy but I don't know if he's deserving of a bench spot yet (say over Ray Rice or Benson, both of which I have). Thoughts?

12 team keeper league. Standard scoring. No PPR.

Matt Cassel QB
Matt Schaub QB
DeAngelo Williams RB
Fred Taylor RB
Steven Jackson RB
DeSean Jackson WR
Vincent Jackson WR
Devin Hester WR
Chris Henry WR
Nate Burleson WR
Marques Colston WR
Chris Cooley TE
Robbie Gould K
New England Patriots TDSP

We start 3 WRs, and I think that will vary weekly by matchup. 1 and 2 look to be Colston and DeSean. Fred Taylor should be a decent bye-week fill-in. Schaub is my "sleeper" pick of the year - if he stays healthy I really think he can put up big numbers. The Texans could even make the playoffs!?

I would probably start both Jacksons and Colston at WR. Vincent is going to have a big year. He's Rivers' #1 target now, even ahead of Gates.

Yes, in the scoring system for our league he was the best pick.

This is why I hate PPR leagues. What a useless statistic to add to fantasy football.

QBs could go either way. Addai and Ward both won't be big time scorers, but PPR might save you, especially given your WRs.

I think my team is pretty solid, also i think if addai stays healthy he is destine to have a good season, and last year derrick ward was also a 3rd stringer and had 1000 yards and 6 tds, i might have to trade welker for a descent rb/wr and another WR

Another team wants to trade Michael Jenkins for Dustin Keller. I've asked for Beanie Wells but I'm not sure if thats fair (especially now that Hightower has been named the starter)?

One of my leagues, I have a very mediocre RB team of Thomas Jones and LenDale White. I just noticed that both Correll Buckhalter and Cadillac Williams are both free agents, and I have no other running backs on my bench. Currently sitting on my bench are a couple receivers though - Tory Holt and Lee Evans (sorry, I have this distinct feeling that the rest of my receiving crew are going to fare better than Evans - Hester/Jennings/Ward). I'm contemplating dropping possibly Holt for Williams or Buckhalter to shore up my running game. Would that even be worth it?

Also - I have the potential to trade possibly a WR for Kevin Smith or Frank Gore. Which would you pick?

Who's likely to throw more picks and his team fumbling the ball? Stafford and his Lions or Bulger and his Rams? I plan to sit out the Eagles D for week 1 and both Seattle and NO are available.

Between the two, no question, Frank Gore and if someone is offering you him for one of your WRs I would take that in a heartbeat.

Actually, I just offered up a trade to the owner after picking up Ginn temporarily. He's currently thin on receivers - fielding 3 total, and one of which is Crabtree (HAHAHA) in a 3 WR start league (No Flex). I offered up Holt and Ginn for Smith and Gore (noting that he has Crabtree as a starter). We'll see if he bites. The rest of his RB depth chart is as follows (was autodrafted I believe): McGahee, Leon Washington, Slaton, Julius Jones.

If he accepts the trade, I come out way ahead. If I get EITHER designated back, I'd be happy, giddy if it was either back + Washington/McGahee/Jones at that point.
