Anyone know what the extent of McNabb's injury is? I'm hearing reports ranging from missing 1 week to 5 weeks to the whole season. I'm considering trading my backup QB Big Ben (Brees is my starter) in a packaged deal to land a top WR plus McNabb. He will most likely be just my Week 5 QB when Brees is off.

Which has more upside? Henderson, Crayton or Gage? I'm looking for a backup WR for my corp - Hester, Jennings, Ward and Evans. Also, is LenDale White worth keeping over Tim Hightower as a backup? My starters for this particular league are Thomas Jones and Cadillac Williams.

I'd expect McNabb to be out at least 3 weeks. Reports from his coach says McNabb is doing everything he can to play next week, but they've also reported the Eagles are signing Garcia as well.

Tough call on the WR's. Henderson has the highest ceiling as he's the best deep threat that NO has on the team. But with the way bree's plays, he's competeing for looks from Colston, Shockey, Lance, Reggie, hell...even the fullback gets lots of receiving TD's.

Gage has the most attention from Collins, but they are a very conservative pass offense.

Crayton has been a somewhat productive reciver, but highly inconsistent. He'll do nothing for a week, then drop 20 points. Do nothing, drop 15. He averages out well, but isn't a good head to head guy.

I'd lean towards Gage assuming Nate Burelson isn't available.

As far as Hightower. I can't stand him. I'd take the tub of lard that is White over him any day.

Few early questions...

1) Is Hightower the real deal? Are we going to see him catching tons of balls every week?
2) Will the Colts resign Marvin Harrison?
3) Is this as good/bad as it gets for Cutler?
4) Is Mark Sanchez Matt Ryan?

#1 - Not sure. Given that AZ's receivers weren't healthy (Boldin wasn't 100% and Breaston was out), and generally poor play all around, I think Hightower got a lot of looks simply because the lack of receivers on the field. But it begs the question, on a pass-first team, does Hightower's showing this week add yet another receiver to the mix? Hightower's numbers show that he wasn't in it for the running game, that's for sure.

#2 - Doubt it.

#3 - Cutler is a go-for-broke player period. Always has been, even in Denver. The receivers he has aren't bad (Hester & Bennett, along with his TE), but the fact is that the Bears have been a run-first team, and with the tools they have should always be a run-first team. Just because your QB has an arm doesn't mean you put a spread offense on the field and hope that someone gets loose. Treat Cutler as a treat - if he has a good game. Otherwise treat him as a risk.

#4 - I think Sanchez is in a good offense. I don't think he's Matt Ryan, and I think his numbers will be slightly worse than Ryan's last year. But I think he's the real deal, he can get it done, but his numbers won't be spectacular. I think Sanchez should be considered more of a Joe Flacco - run-first team with a lot of tools in the backfield that they have no problems using, but not spectacular numbers for the QB. He'll throw it only when he needs to, but when he does odds are it'll be a good through.

2) Will the Colts resign Marvin Harrison? Possible
3) Is this as good/bad as it gets for Cutler? As bad as it gets. I would put more of the blame on the WR's than Cutler. 2 of those INTs were specifically because of dumb moves by WRs
4) Is Mark Sanchez Matt Ryan?
Yes. jets are a sleeper team this year

I am playing in a modified scoring league. 2 QB's per roster play each week. The scoring puts an emphasis on the QB position as well. I currently have Brees and Romo as my starters. Unfortunately I missed the live draft due to internet connection issues and the auto pick took Mcnabb as my bench QB. Flacco is still available. Mcnabbs future is unknown at this point(will he play this week, will he be out for a few weeks). Flacco put up big numbers week 1, but will it continue. They both have upsides and downsides. If Flacco continues to put up decent numbers, I may want to take him, just to keep him from starting for someone else. And have him available for my starters bye weeks.

I am leaning toward dropping mcnabb for flacco. But will it bite me in the butt later?

yep.

Also, I have a connundrum - defense. I have Baltimore as my primary defense in one of the leagues. Good defense, but not a point scorer, which is part of the reason I lost in week one. I'm wondering if trading up for Seattle or GB would be a better risk/reward investment.

(Or even Atlanta)

GB gave me good points, I have them and the Steelers (no idea why I have two).

You gotta go with Schaub here. Sanchez is too green to be considered for play this early. Cutler and Schaub both play tough D's (Pit and Ten respectively), but Schaub does have some weapons around him (A. Johnson will have a better week with Kevin Walters on the other side and Slaton is one of the better pass catching backs out there)

Also, you have to go with Slaton, DeAngelo Williams, and Ryan Grant. All three are studs and you ALWAYS PLAY YOUR STUDS.

WR/TE is a little more tricky. Wayne and Ochocinco are definite plays. Shockey, Harvin, and Jackson all have a lot of questions, but I would probably lean towards Shockey. He is definitely in a great situation. Harvin is a rookie and that is a run first offense. Johnson has no clue who is throwing him the ball -- is it McNabb? is it Garcia?? is it Kolb??

I have 4 FF teams and need some advice for any/all of them.
2 of them I am doing ok both point wise and rank wise for week 1.

The other 2 (try to guess which) were autodrafted because I wasn't there at time of draft (), and I'm not doing that great.Below is a pic with all 4 team rosters. Reps (stolen from Arcadio, so you know they are both serious and valuable) for advice on any or all of my teams.

Legionaires: You SHOULD be starting Leon Washington or Hightower over Taylor. I'd likely pick Washington. Is Sanchez or a more reliable QB over Orton available?

Lightning and Fire: I'd pick Gage over Manningham personally.

Time Warpers: Erm, uh... Leftwich? I'm not expecting him to have a good day against Buffalo. I know he's in for McNabb, but there aren't any better pickups on Waiver? Also, you have Taylor starting again, when there's a couple of better choices on your roster.

Ochokicko: I refuse to help you there because you're in the same league as me. I say start Breaston, Ochocinco, Stewart, and Brown.

I would kind of go against the Taylor recommendation. They are playing the Lions which means Taylor will probably see quite a few carries after MIN goes up by 4 TDs

Yeah, I'll start Hightower in both leagues that I have him, I think I was messing around matchup options when I put Taylor in. I doubt he'll be utilized much against Detroit.

Sanchez is gone, but Garrard is available if I can clear him past waivers (doubtful). Shaun Hill is next available/viable option, but I don't think he's worth picking over Orton.

I'm a little stuck between the two. Manningham hasn't really proven himself, and who know how Giants will use him or the other receivers. He did very well in that last game, though. I'll probably play Gage and wait to see how Manningham does in this week's game before considering him for later games.

Leftwich wasn't my top choice. Available QBs: Shaun Hill, Jake Delhomme *shudder*, Pat White, Brady Quinn, Marc Bulger, Kerry Collins (had him at one point, dropped to make room), Brodie Croyle...list continues to go down from there. Any worthy picks from the list? I could also pick up McNabb's sub, Kevin Kolb, but he's not very good at all from what I've seen.

my vote is neither. play the def waiver game. find any team that's playing the rams, chiefs, browns, or any other crappy team that emerges this year.

That was my thought initially, but I'm not sure how much they'll use him.
Major upside against Lions, though. I played Bell last week in most of my leagues. Crazy yardage, if only he score a TD or two...

#1 - I'd take Hill over Garrard. Honestly. But that's just me.
#2 - You sound like you have a plan, go with it.
#3 - Again, I'd take Hill over Leftwich at this point. Kerry Collins will be a decent choice, except that I don't expect to see them putting up points through the air much this week unless Houston's run defense miraculously improves somehow.
#4 - All joking aside, start Cutler, Johnson, Welker, Williams, McFadden, Clark, and Hightower.

One thing I'll stress - watch Hightower and the Cards carefully this week. If he has another production like he did last week, I'd be willing to bet you'll be seeing his number called an awful lot until the defenses key on him, at which point it would be time to put in Breaston or pick up Boldin off waivers (since no one is going to release Fitz). Odds are if Hightower has a good stat line again this week, you should be safe starting him for the next 4 weeks at least.

And after what happened with AP last week - I think that it'll be damn near impossible for the coaches to drag him out of the game no matter what the score. He wants a stat line like no other, and I think Childress might just let him go for it (especially against Detroit).

Score!!! ???

One of the leagues I'm in (the one I was fairly thin at RB in - Thomas Jones, LenDale White and *insert random pick here*) just handed me a treat. As mentioned previously, one of the fellows was particularly HEAVY at RB, and only had 2 active WR's (Crabtree being #3) in a 3 WR league.

Now TJ kicked ass for me in Week 1, so I say "HAH!" to all those that said he was washed up. LenDale, not so much. Cadillac Williams was picked up right after his numbers were posted, displacing Jerious Norwood from my bench, and in fact putting LenDale on the bench so he could start. But here's the kicker...

Said person expunged SEVERAL RB's from his team to pick up a few WR's that performed well. While he did score Crayton, Henderson and Gage, to do so he dropped Leon Washington... and one a starting feature back who didn't do so hot in Week 1. No waivers in this league, so I scooped up Slaton. I also picked up Sproles who was on the FA list as well, I'm assuming he'll get the start next week. So now I just have to figure out which two RB's to start now. Jones, C. Williams, Slaton or Sproles.

You...gotta...be.....kidding...me.

How many people are in your league? Is everyone a noob? Why in gods green earth would someone ever drop Slaton, especially AFTER THE 1st WEEK.

You better win that league, considering the move that one guy just made.

Crayton, Henderson and Gage are all 2nd tier WR's who *MIGHT* have a chance for a TD every week. Slaton *ALWAYS* will have a chance for a TD.

EDIT: As for who to start? I would do Sproles for sure. That guy is a badass. It would be a toss up b/t him and Jones
