anything in the pipeline for them? looks like they just completed a reverse split....

Sort of confused as well, especially on a Friday. Is this a recommendation or just a comment?

we all missed VRMLQ.PK, it went from 0.05 few weeks ago to over $3 now. I usually hear things like this right away, but this one did not even make it to my radar screen at all until now, which is probably too late to get into..oh well.

I bought 20,000 shares Friday, just noting it on here. It was my first stock purchase in a while. Been on a holding mode...

"What percentage of your holdings do you have in stocks vs. cash right now?"
I think he may be trying to gauge whether total portfolio performance is anywhere as good as individual stock performance (?)

My biggest holding is JNJ, with CVX very close behind. Started buying them in 1991, reinvested dividends and bought on dips. I If I were to turn off the drip I'd make enough in dividends to pay for most of my expenses. This is why I stay away from the high growth stocks. JNJ hasn't gone much anywhere the past 10 years but I kept getting paid to hold it. On another note, I used to own a lot of US stocks but now about 40% are foreign.

Overall, I do have a queasy feeling about this market. It's gone up so much since march and I just don't see the economy getting better any time soon. Worse of all, not much as been done about preventing the mistakes that lead up to this. I'd thought by now Glass-Steagall would be reinstated and leverage ratios would be lowered. No reckless CEOs were punished and all Obama can come up with is this new consumer protection agencey. Overall it gives me a really eerie feeling that another disaster is waiting to happen soon.

What we are going through now is somewhat similiar to what happened in 1930 which was the greatest sucker's rally of all time until now. Back then the market rallied 50% from the 1929 crash and overall it was only down 20% at that time and people were feeling good about things. Then it proceeded to crash and go down another 80% and bottom in july 1932. After that it took decades to get back to the 1930 high. I really don't want to live through something like that

I've seen savvy commentary that we may just be stealing from next year's stock market returns.

IIRC, someone said that cash on the sidelines peaked at 50% earlier in the year, and is now 30% (historical average is 20%)?

Money managers that are lagging their benchmarks and at risk of losing assets under management will scramble to lock in whatever trading gains they can get to hopefully close gap by year end (or maybe not be in business next year).

Plus, I think third and fourth quarter comps will be very easy to beat because of how the economy just fell off a clip last fall. Companies had no visibility going forward and apparently cut inventory and jobs over-aggressively (retro-spectively).

One experienced money manager, Longleaf Partners, seems to think major risks to their conservative assessments are 1) crashing of U. S. dollar, and 2) out of control inflation.

Whether either of those could take out the lows of earlier this year (SP500 666)... I don't know, but kind of doubt it.

Bio + Off-Road Buggies?!?

I'm a sucker for weird stocks

They just finished a reverse spilt. Consolidating for financial backers. There's 2 million shares, but the majority of them are being held tight and there's very little out there on the open float. I'm out after the financing goes through and the pent up demand goes away (maybe in a month?).

I am personally sitting pretty with my ETFC holdings that I bought into during the end of August up over 30% as of today.

I looked at it and my brokerage categorizes it as a pink sheet stock? Is that just a market for penny stocks?

This may be your last opportunity to buy AAPL below 190-200

You are implying that AAPL's P/E will stay the same but they will be able to bring in revenue from farther out into the current period. EMH should state that this is already known and P/E will just discount. Just because an accounting rule changes doesn't mean their actual revenue has changed. AAPL's current 33 P/E justifies revenue from the future being brought forward. It does not deserve to have a 33 P/E with the new accounting rule, contrary to what Cramer says.

I thought the trade had merit well before Nutjob Cramer picked up on it. Apple Insider was my original source. If you read the link, one of the things the accounting rules will allow is more realistic valuation of it's stock, many analysts have agonized over how to value Apple stock because of iPhone sales...

Whenever Cramer pumps a stock and you own it, it's usually a sell indicator

I actually moaned when he started his Apple bit, since I had $100K worth of Apple stock already

Cramer on Apple

The question that's probably sitting in all our minds is if it'll just stay flat at the top or drop off. You just know if it drops off, there could be another panic sell off and I want to be ahead of the crowd so that I can buy back in cheap when it's oversold. People do not have the nerves after what happened early this year to hang tough and I feel like another bubble is about to burst.

Or the market could continue to totally ignore the signs and push forward on momentum alone which one would also like to ride out as far as possible. That's why I'm considering unloading incrementally from dow @ 10k and on through Q4 earnings.

Anyone have thoughts on MNKD? It's had a really nice run lately but there is talk of a partnership in the near future. Inhalable insulin, ftw!

Azurik - Good purchase. Almost 50% gain for you.

Thanks MrYogi! I'm up 55.5% in 4 trading days after today's gain. I'm actually expecting well over a 100% gain before I sell. Think it can be pushed to $1.50+, but I'm planning to sell off in bits and pieces on the way up. Don't want to wait for a sell price before I offload everything in case I'm off in price by a penny/nickel.

Anyway, it's small money anyway. I only put $10,000 into it... so I have a paper profit of $5,000. I won't complain. Just something to do while RMBS/TSRA/TIVO heads into trial or DNDN takes off... something to keep me from my boredom.

I'd recommend KERX. It just shot up 30% this morning after good news and that one of their drugs will get phase 3 approval by the end of this year.. Good time to buy before it takes off again on positive news.. Am expecting $5-$6 by December upon announcement of FDA Phase 3 approval..

I'm not sure if I should get back into AAPL... Sold @ 170.. When do you guys expect it to hit $230+??? January? Also, is 185 the new support or will it stay between 180-185?

Hard to say, although S. Korea just decided to allow sales of iPhones, they were previously illegal to import.

If I were to guess, a slow increase with bumps associated with the quarterly reports.

As this quarter draws to a close, funds will be buying AAPL to show it as a current holding, 185 seems to be the new support.
