eTrade will do that from their website. But you need an account with them.

Thank you both! Zecco has a feature like this too & its actually not easy to find it out through your account. I went through google search to get to their stock alert link. But it does a pretty good job

This morning Briefing.com has reported that Samsung is now ready to settle at $1.5 billion dollars plus the European Commission suggested forward royalty rate 1.5%... it's getting more and more interesting with all these names getting thrown around. Go RMBS!

...and anyone still in SNWT, it's time to get out. The volume is more than double it's average daily already this morning and it's getting hit on the sell side by shorters.

Anyone think we'll be back near the all-time 2007 highs sometime next year? It doesn't seem like anything can stop this rally, despite people always saying it's getting too far ahead of the actual recovery.

Damn, I was gonna sell today, but just noticed the drop from 1.60 to 1.20 (now). No chance of it surviving to come back up later?

It actually went as high as $1.70, I know cause I sold my last 2,500 share batch at that price. It's under a short attack right now... and that might induce some holders to dump. I'd sell.

I did at 1.21, but should have done it at 1.60 when I had the chance on friday, or at least put the order in to execute this morning. lost over half the profits. still a 33% gain from what I bought it at.

I'm glad you made out with profits on my call. It's better to sell with reduced profits then to sell for lower losses

The big mistake most people make is putting some magical number on when they want to sell. That's why if you have a lot of shares into something, it's always smart to sell into the rise and lock down some of the gains. Sure, the potential gain is less if the stock keeps rising, but there's going to be a time down the road this advice will prove invaluable. Your 200% gain in one stock could turn into a 100% loss the next day.

Historically, the stock maket has recovered 6 months ahead of the economy.

Anyways, guessing short term mvoements is jsut that. Guessing. Find what is undervalued and invest based o nthat. I hope everyone is planning for inflation though. We'll be seeing double digit inflation soon.

for some time I've had alerts set up on several if they start moving quickly - GNVC was one that pulled today and I decided to gamble. Only 1700 shares @ .81, bought with some leftover dividends, but we'll see what happens. It'll probably drop tomorrow as people realize there was an over reaction to the initial jump (down ~2% already after hours)

I'm looking more into the drug itself and may buy more once my next deposit makes it to etrade. Luckily my SO is a cancer biology doctoral student who can explain things to me.

I sold out. It's $1.54 right now - a triple bagger in 3 weeks.

Anyone who has shares left, I recommend selling before Wednesday of next week. I hear rumors that they're going to do a 3-1 or 4-1 spilt sometime around then (to discourage short sellers), which could cause it to go up even more... but safe bet, sell out and lock your profits. Don't get too greedy..........

SNWT Announced a 5-1 Split after close of market today. Good call overall Azurik!

Hi, fellows

Fast advice is needed for stock investing.

I am totally a newbie for stock.

Questions for the experienced.

1. Which on-line stock brokers u guys use and recommend?

2. About the tax filing, if I make profit in stock, I have to keep track of every transaction I made. So is it difficult?

3. I have been watching the stock market since the beginning of this year, it keep going up and up, but the economy seem not improving. Foreign central bank seems to be dumping US$, I wonder is it a good time to enter the market?

Pls advices, many thks.

2) End of each year my broker will send every transaction i made money or lost money out of and i use turbotax to just copy those values into their forms. Turbotax can automatically import those data & fill forms for you but unfortunately my broker is not yet on that list now. Even if you do it manually its not that difficult.

3) Devaluation of US dollar is not a easy thing to do. Like take for example as you said when the foreign central banks starts to dump $'s, the $ value will go down which will directly affect the rest of their holdings. But i can understand the frustration of foreign countries depending on $ as the reserve currency, a new reserve currency or commodity will take years to take into effect if they do start to get away from the $. In other words the $ is not going anywhere anytime soon. Thats my opinion

C is currently at $4.83 and it's the first time after trying repeatedly it has held over $4.80. That combined with analyst upgrades make me think that it will be >$5 by the Nov. options expiration. I have been watching the Nov 09 5 call since it was at 0.2. I had to wait a few days for options trading to be approved on my account. Now it's up to 0.28 ask.

Unfortunately I still can't trade but I wanted to ask some opinions here anyway. Is there a recommended method of researching what the option premium may go up to if it is in the money, like an online calculator? Any opinions on CKP?

Also, if I was interested in say 5 contracts so 500*0.28 = $140 plus whatever commission. Isn't that the only money I put at risk? All the legal mumbo jumbo has me kind of worried since I'm new to options. I likely wouldn't exercise the contract and instead sell off the option but I can't figure out through my broker if there are minimum size transaction fees or what else I'm getting into. I'm confused.

I just hope I get approved for an appropriate level that I can do some long calls. The first level only allows you to do covered calls/puts/roll-outs and buy-writes or unwinds. In the end I'll probably just stick with my regular stocks until I better understand this process.

I have doubled/tripled my money in many of these positions and have also lost a lot. It is very risky but it has its rewards.

Yes, $140 plus commission would be your maximum money at risk. About the minimum size transaction fees, it depends on who is your broker

Even the first level in option allows you to buy call.

And welcome to the world of options
