He had a lane open up last night that was as wide as a freeway and fired it out to the perimeter that raised some eyebrows. But overall Kidd just brings a calmness to this Dallas team. When things get hectic it's always nice to have Kidd bring it slowly up the floor and make the right decisions. He hardly even has to move with his vision. He can just stand there and survey the scene and all of of a sudden he's hitting a cutter to the basket or firing a pass off to someone wide open coming off a pick.

I'm hoping Kidd and Dirk get it done this year. I can't put my finger on it but the mavs just don't get rattled or lose this postseason. They could be getting outplayed and you look up and they are up 6 points. It's weird.

Dirk and Kidd definitely deserve a championship ring. It's way past due for these two future HoFers.

Also, Mavs have been so dominant at finishing out games. If you look back at the regular season, Mavs had a ton of games where they only won by 1-5 points. Granted maybe some games shouldn't have gotten that close, but it goes to show that they can keep their cool and close out a game when it gets down to crunch time.

And yeah I do also remember the games where they gave up huge leads and eventually lost the game. Won't discount those games, but overall, Mavs have been really good at closing out games this year. Perhaps that is why they are so ridiculous this year in the post season.

Only 2 bulls/heat games this week...WTF.

Game 2 tonight, game 3 on Sunday, then every other day.

Spoelstra is still not dressing Ilgauskas. I would have thought with how bad they got out-rebounded they would try and see how Ilgauskas would do. Dumb move IMO.

Wow. That's almost surreal to not give him some minutes. Dampier, who I'm assuming is in uniform instead? has no outside shot. Ilgauskas can atleast pull bigs away from the paint on the offensive end. Even if he can't run, who can keep up with James and Wade if they are out in front anyways.

Haha, Miami is going to try and force small ball on the Bulls, Dampier is out too, lol.

Lots of makeable shots for the bulls, few falling. Usually takes a while for them to work up a lather tho...

Miami moving the ball better, getting some inside baskets.

There are 3 people in the NBA who I would rather have on my team over LBJ.

1. Derrick Rose
2. Dirk Nowitzki
3. Kevin Durant

Just a random thought. I don't think LBJ Is the best player in the NBA anymore.

Damn, Heat only has 2pts in the 4th with 4:36 left. Maybe the lowest scoring 4th of the playoffs only 10pts total so far

Looks like the heat will even the series, but what an ugly 4th qtr. Bulls certainly had their chances to put this one away

Very few people agree with that. You may not like Lebron, but he is clearly the best player in the NBA. No way there are three players better than him.

Rose's height will keep him from being the top player in the NBA, MVP or not. Tonight's game shows why.

The Heat once again show they suck in close games, they showed that same tired stat again about their record in "close" games of 5 points or less. The same stat they showed in those 2 Celtics games. Just like those games they did nothing to improve that stat, but did go 3-0 in those games.

another clutch game by lebron.

bulls should've pounded ball inside. no dampier and z = early foul trouble for the heat.

Bulls showed their inexperience in this game, the Heat steal home court and can take control of the series with a home win on Sunday.

The Heat actually have on of the higher rated interior defenses in the league. There was a nice article I read a few months back detailing the stats, I'll see if I can find it. The jist of it was that though they lacked a true dominant center, they had great length at every position and play some of the best weakside defense out there.

The Bulls just aren't that good of an offensive team, their games all playoffs long have demonstrated that fact. Getting hot from 3 point range isn't something you should count on. Interesting debate during the game between Miller and Kerr about Kyle Korver, he was getting burned badly on defense and Miller thought he should be pulled (I agree). Kerr thought Korver had to be out there to stretch the defense and provide some offense for the Bulls.

Pretty much all the 50/50 calls went the Bulls' way, that usually happens at home with the crowd feeding the refs. If this same game was in Miami it would have swung heavily in the Heat's favor with those calls.

I felt the Heat would split the first two games on the way to winning in 6. Spo made the right adjustments and now it is on Tibs to respond for game 3. His reluctance to pull Korver in those final 5 minutes as the Heat exploited him nearly every trip down the court was sad to watch. He has the X's and O's down defensively, but he still ignores the offense and seems to have a poor grasp of momentum. He works his guys hard, and their record this year is a testament to that fact. However, I think he has worked them too hard (Scott Skiles, Avery Johnson type) so that they don't have another gear to hit when times get tough. For as hard as he pushed them all season to secure homecourt, they just lost it tonight.

Finally, if Boozer keeps struggling to put up a double double or even a single double, the Bulls have no chance.

I'd still take LeBron over all of them. Rose is the only one out of those 3 that does defense. I love Durant but he does not have a defensive mindset and Dirk has had some good rebounding nights but not consistently enough.

Oprah's last week is this week for NBC. She got the NBA to push back the Bulls vs. Heat game because she had The United Center for a night, her farewell show I think.

Yes, Oprah is that special.

Hopefully the Mavs took notes from this one. Winning game 1 doesn't mean squat if you lose game 2. I still believe the Bulls win it but it looks like a 6 or 7 game series now.

How often should we remind you of this?

If you're a heat fan then you better hope Wade is up to carrying the team on his shoulders. Lebron is a weak minded fool that's riding Wade's nuts. Bosh is a soft euroball mental midget. Would be hilarious to see the heat lose and Lebron saying he needs more help.

And since I didn't comment earlier, what has Dirk ever done that Lebron hasn't?

Yep. Chicago shot for poo from three pt land. Heat stopped trying to trap Rose as much up high and tightened up interior defense. Chicago couldn't hit a long shot to save their life so Miami could stay home down low. Came to be crunch time with a few minutes left and Rose went into panic mode and couldn't get good penetration. A lot of Chicago's layups and tip ins were heavily contested.

Funny thing is if you go back and watch game 1 and 2 and see what happens when Rose comes out in the first quarter of each game. Chicago made a huge push both times. Doesn't hurt that Lebron was out then either. But offense wise I think that they play better team ball with that second unit and pass and cut to the basket more readily.

Awesome game!
Lebron closes the game out, again!

I hope the Heat demolish them in games 3/4.
