The Bulls haven't looked this good all post-season.

That was probably their best final 3 quarters of the year. They didn't do anything that surprised me except that they did everything all at once. Miami didn't even make a run, and I've never seen the Bulls run so well offensively as well as not let a top team make a run in the 2nd half.

I think Miami knows what they have to do, move the ball, but couldn't figure out how on the fly tonight. They've got 3 days to work on a solution. Bulls defense can shred teams when they don't move the ball, unless they are just shooting lights out.

I'm just used to the NFL and NHL, where they break down plays, show what went wrong and right and give me a deeper understanding of the game. This post-game is just the 4 of them circle jerking each other and yelling like idiots. They can't even get some of the stats right. For three highlight clips in a row they just kept saying "wait for it...wait for it..." until they showed the Gibson dunk again. Then they just yelled. The hell kind of analysis is that?

It's always interesting to listen to Thibs. He's very straight forward with his explanations and does a great job discussing some specifics where their emphasis is and what they want to work on. The tnt group sucks for analysis. Magic and kenny can be good sometimes, but as former players, they tend to get away from the x's and o's, and more into 'he has to step up' cr@p.

Chicago isn't going to shoot 10-21 from 3pt land every game and Wade/Lebron aren't going to combine for 10 pts in the 2nd half of the game every night either. Miami will get theirs. It just won't be easy.

They aren't going to shoot that well very often, rarely, and extremely doubtful to happen in Miami...atleast not for the bulls.

That said, even tho Miami wants to make chicago shoot outside jumpers, they've got to contest them much better. Dallas went off on LA with 3 pointers, but watching highlights, its amazing how many were barely contested if at all. Why make it any easier than they are falling already.

Gotta love that 'Korver-Rose' screen back and forth, then the 3 by Korver. That was wicked. :thumbsup:

I think the Heat might get 1, but that could probably be considered a stretch. The Heat don't have the length nor the bench to compete with a team like the Bulls, who are actually at full strength.

Yeah I normally don't watch any of the coach or player interviews mainly because they answer like politicians much of the time. I might have to give Thibs a try since TNT is pure suck and then watch the breakdown on Comcast sportsnet. That is if I continue to watch the series.

It's far from over, but as I said before: Many people put too much stock in the Heat's handling of the Celtics. The Bulls weren't the overachievers this year, the Celtics were. That team had no chance of winning the title.

Last night's game had a certain similarity to the last Bulls/Celtics game. But it would be foolish to think the Heat can't adjust to what the Bulls are doing.

They can't adjust to bench depth, physical presence, and the fact that so much of their scoring comes from so few sorces. Say what you will about Rose "carrying" Chicago, he doesn't carry 70% of Chicagos scoring. You can't run Wade and Lebron 40 some minutes a night and expect them to hit shots reliably, not against a team as fast and physical as Chicago. Wade looked tanked come the end of the 1st half.

What Miami can do is work on playing half court ball, making more than one or two passes, and actually set up some plays to create opportunities instead of relying on isolation play hoping Wade or Lebron can make something happen.

Defense wise I don't know what else Miami can do. They were sending up two to trap Rose but he was able to get a pass to somebody at the top of key which left somebody in the lane open for a fairly easy put in. Chicago didn't even try the pick & roll that they used in game 6 of the ATL series that had Boozer torching the Hawlks.

The great thing about a good defense is that it doesn't need to make a basket or get an open look to be effective. That's a skill that travels well.

Game 2 should be interesting to see what Spol does to mix things up. He still strikes me as a guy in way over his head and lacking the coaching chops to rally the troops in a series like this.

I was working and missed the game, but I'm about to watch the recording of it. That said, I expected a split in Chicago for the Heat to win in 6. I still expect that.

Without having seen the game but going on vi edit's analysis, I would suspect that the Heat stop trapping Rose (really they did that?) and stay at home on everyone else. If you tread back on the thread I said that the way the Pacers and Hawks stalled the Chicago offense was by letting Rose get his but not allowing the shooters to get hot.

It was kind of a half ass trap. He'd get midcourt and then they'd flash two guys up and slow him down. After he'd get inside the 3pt line one would head home and start to fill up the paint giving him an shot at an open jumper but not much of a run at the basket. He was drilling his jumpers and much more selective in his 3pt shots. He never got any good drives to the hoop until the 2nd half when Miami was breaking down.

It will be interesting to see if Haslem can provide any meaningful minutes/muscle to this series. He's been out a long time. Wonder what kind of shape he's in.

If Rondo and Jermaine were healthy they absolutely would have had a chance, even without Perkins. I think Rondo's injury was the nail in the coffin for them. But before the playoffs started they were playing great and had a good chance.
