These games aren't being decided by free throws. Miami is losing because they get stagnant on offense/mavs clamp down defensively in the fourth and the mavs are making the big shots. There have not been a number of questionable calls in the fourth when the games are being decided. In fact they are letting them play for the most part. Anyone crying about fouls is just a mad heat fan.

Lebron and Wade mocking Dirk was such a punk move, especially with Wade being a drama queen when he gets fouled hard. Now I'm definitely hoping the Mavs win.

As with Boston & Chicago, 4-1 Heat. Mavs are good, but as Pippen said Lebron's probably the best all around player the NBA has ever seen. Him + Wade = lights out.

In all seriousness though, I don't think too many folks saw this coming.

It's pretty clear that LeBron is not exactly on the level of Jordan or even Pippen. I think Pippen may be a little jelly of Jordan getting most of the credit for the Bulls wins, even though Pippen himself was probably one of the best 20 or so players ever to walk the court. Jordan though, he's easily top 3, and in many people's minds, #1. I can't really think of a better choice. The man just came through in clutch game after clutch game and didn't get shut down by pressure. Granted, it took some years to build up to that level. Didn't it take him 7 years to get the first title? Perhaps LeBron will rise to that level, but personally I just don't see it in him. There's some kind of 'magic', for lack of a better word, that shines through in ;egendary players that can stand at the top with absolutely maximum pressure, and it makes them even better. As much as I'm not a fan of Wade, I see more of that in him than "King" James.

The Mavs just gotta come out and survive those first 10-15 mins. If they do that, they should be able to close out the Heat. I think Dirk schools them again. I hope so, damn I can't stand Lebron now. I hope he never ever wins.

Mavs would be wise to pour every single last bit of effort they have to close it out on Sunday. If the Heat win on the back of Lebron(doubftful but it's still Lebron) I don't see the Mavs winning in 7. Last thing the Mavs want is Lebron to find his shot and gain confidence again. Sunday should be an amazing game either way.

The Mavs are getting to the line in key possessions in the fourth quarter, most notably Mr. 100% for the series. The Heat? Not as much. It does factor in, even if the games aren't "on" the refs.

Where am I crying about fouls? I have only offered stats that refute some claims that are being made. My thought on the matter was that the officiating would be different in Miami and the games would play out accordingly.

The truth of the matter, is that because the games are being decided by the final shot, *anything* that could affect even one hoop will decide the game. So FTs decide the game, but so does any other small thing. I read somewhere that the total points scored in the Finals through 5 games is 4 points different for the two teams. You can't play much closer than they are. If calls go one way or another, the teams would adjust accordingly and probably play relatively close games still.

The Heat should be putting games away but are allowing Dallas to hang around. They aren't stepping on the Mavs' neck and ending games. At the same time, they are attacking the basket with force but are not getting the benefit of calls. I've said quite a few times that 50/50 calls almost always go to the home team. The crowd noise and the emotion of momentum are big factors in this. The series was not called in that typical manner in Miami, it was more "fair". The series was called in that typical manner in Dallas. Does Miami's notoriously bad crowds play a role in that? Most likely.

I said after game 5 that I thought the officiating was bad on both ends of the floor, meaning against both teams. I thought the whistles were coming in waaaaaaay late time and time again.

The Heat fans complaining about the fouls must have just hopped on the bandwagon; see 2006 for a real example of atrocious officiating.

Pre-Game just started - I really wish they would fire Stuart Scott!

Rooting for Dallas to close this out! Hopefully bron bron is mentally on vacation and just wants this season to end!

Even if James checks out, every game has been close without him in the 4th, since it's been a shot or 2 deciding it. They might not even need him. Wade & Bosh could carry the team to a win. Based off the last 5 games though, if James plays AT ALL in the 4th the Heat will win easily. With their star player zoning out for an entire quarter and Dallas shooting like monsters from the 3 they still managed to almost win the last game.

Hell Via, they need to watch out right now. The Mavs not only survived the first quarter, they extended to an 8 point lead (down to 5) with Dirk on the bench. Maybe James/Wade should mock that.

Mavs are just playing like they want it more than the Heat do. Heat are playing like it's a regular season game, no intensity so far.
