I got Jackson on waivers pretty much to use as a trade for a WR. My current receivers are Harvin, Ward and Nate Washington. My current RBs are Thomas, Mendenhall and D. Williams. Would you guys trade Jackson for Driver?

I'd try to get more than driver. might wanna give it a week, jackson should have a nice week and that will help his value

if you need a WR and can do without spiller, definitely go for it

I'm trying to figure out if its a fair trade. I have Brandon Jacobs on the bench, but Spiller is my current flex starter. I also have Chester Taylor, who is currently worthless, but who knows.

My starting WRs are Driver and Maclin. Meachem on the bench. I could use a WR, just not sure if Ward for Spiller is the right move.

its pretty close. if you made the trade, ward would be your flex. I'd probably make the deal. who are your starting rbs? how many teams in your league?

Starting RBs are Gore and Deangelo Williams. Assuming DW gets it together, its a good starting pair. 12 teams.

My glaring weakness is the WR spot, but I just can't decide if its worth holding Spiller - he plays for Buffalo, so the hype right now might be greater than his actual production later.

We're also a 0.5 PPR league, which does have me leaning towards taking Ward. Ultimate possession receiver.

Forgot to mention I also have Massaquoi. Probably doesn't make a difference, I'm thinking I should take the trade.

Problem is, I'm always second-guessing this shit. I'm terrible in FF, for the most part. Last year I traded away Ward for Orange Julius. Statistically, fair straight up, and I was thin at RB. But Jones just didn't do shit after I got him. I got lucky picking up Forsett on waivers to save my own ass then.

I say what I keep saying about Best, Rookie RB on a crappy team usually doesn't make for a good combo. Spillar is pure speculation, hopefully he puts up some big numbers.

Ward on the other hand is consistant. Probably won't get you big numbers, but will average around 10-12 points a week.

I took the plunge on the trade. Ward didn't practice today, not injury related, but we'll see. Spiller probably wasn't going to be starting for me any time soon - looking at Buffalo's schedule, the next few weeks are horrid for them.

My team got rocked by the loss of Ryan Grant and only have 3rd waiver priority... had to settle for Fred Taylor. Any advice on who to start?

QB - Favre
RB - Jonathan Stewart
RB - Jahvid Best
RB/WR - Devin Aromashodu
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Jeremy Maclin
TE - Antonio Gates
D/ST - Carolina Panthers
K - David Akers

Bench:
WR - Bernard Berrian
WR - Jabar Gaffney
RB - Kevin Smith
RB - Willis McGahee
RB - Fred Taylor
QB - David Garrard
D/ST - 49ers

I'm wary of starting Fred Taylor since the Pats are facing the Jets next week, otherwise I'd have him in at flex.

I'm left choosing 3 receivers - obviously I'm gonna start Andre Johnson. For the other 2, I was thinking Maclin b/c he's facing the Lions, and then either Aromashadu (vs. Cowboys) or Gaffney (vs. Seahawks).

So, we do IDPs in our league and my RB corps is really, really weak. WR isn't that great, either. I picked up M Tolbert (SD) today b/c I had a spot to give away, and well...he played hard on 2 plays last week, lol. who knows, anyway...

buddy offered me Cotchery for M Williams, my top defensive player. He has a ridiculous defense already (Willis, Fletcher, Mathis, Woodson, A Wilson, R Lewis--seriously, noone knows how he drafted that, it's insane) anyway, trying to figure out if I need Cotchery.

I've always been big on him and my buddy knows I have a weakness for former Wolfpackers I think it's a rpetty good deal for me, but worries are that it's my top defensive spot, and I'm not sure what Cotchery's status is this year...is there reason for concern?

My offense:

QB--Rivers
RB--Foster
RB--Sproles D:
FX--Westbrook D:
WR--Fitzgerald
WR--Meachem
WR--S Smith (NYG)
TE--V Davis

I got hit with the Grant bug this week unfortunately and I've patched things up early for this coming week. either way I'm looking to trade out one of my WR for a RB. I was unable to logon Tuesday to grab Jackson. My current lineup sits at:

Starting
Peyton Manning, Ind QB
Joseph Addai, Ind RB
Darren McFadden, Oak RB
Cadillac Williams, TB RB
DeSean Jackson, Phi WR
Donald Driver, GB WR
Visanthe Shiancoe, Min TE
Cowboys D/ST, Dal D/ST
Ryan Longwell, Min K

Bench
Dwayne Bowe, KC WR
Pierre Garcon, Ind WR
Michael Bush, Oak RB
Kevin Boss*, NYG TE
Lee Evans, Buf WR
Kyle Orton, Den QB
Kevin Faulk, NE RB

The guy I'm trying to trade with has:

Starting
Jay Cutler, Chi QB
Steven Jackson, StL RB
Tim Hightower, Ari RB
Ryan Mathews, SD RB
Steve Smith, Car WR
Chad Ochocinco, Cin WR
Antonio Gates, SD TE
Broncos D/ST, Den D/ST
Matt Prater, Den K
Bench
Frank Gore, SF RB
Brandon Jacobs, NYG RB
Braylon Edwards, NYJ WR
Kellen Winslow, TB TE
Johnny Knox, Chi WR
Brandon Jackson, GB RB
Peyton Hillis, Cle RB

I was thinking of offering either Garcon or Bowe for Gore Hightower or Jackson but I'm unsure he would accept. Think I have any leverage to pull one of his RBs away?

Anyone else holding Vincent Jackson for possible late season action? He was a FA today so I decided to grab him since WR is my weakest position. I figure if he does manage to come back week 5, I could have a good backup for my starters that all have late bye weeks. My current lineup:

QB: Tony Romo
RB: Brandon Jackson
RB: Adrien Peterson
WR: Chad Ochocinco
WR: Hakeem Nicks
WR: Mike Sims-Walker
TE: Antonio Gates
K: David Akers
DEF: Greenbay

Bench:
QB: Jay Cutler
RB: Matt Forte
RB: Johnathan Stewart
WR: Brandon Marshall
WR: Vincent Jackson
TE: Heath Miller
K: Dan Carpenter
DEF: 49ers

I'm holding onto VJax in a couple leagues for that reason..

@Zokudu, if I was that other owner.. no way I'd trade Gore or Jackson (I assume S.Jackson?) for Bowe or Garcon.

I was originally offered Driver for B Jackson. I told the guy I needed a legitimate #1WR instead. It now looks like the deal will be Andre Johnson and Knowshon Moreno to me for DeAngelo Williams and Mendenhall.

My best WR is currently Ward. I also have Pierre Thomas and Brandon Jackson to round outy RBs.

What do you guys think? And thanks again for all the advice so far!

For your flex you could start mcgahee with the expection that he vultures a score from rice. He is clearly the goal line back in that offense.

But if you're not feeling too high on him I might go Aromashadu over Gaffney because he did have a decent but not spectacular outing last week. Its pretty much a wash between the two.

I think you can do better in the waiver wire than Cotchery. He's going to lose even more looks when Holmes comes back from suspension in an offense run by the new Captain Checkdown. I'm not too keen on IDPs but their seems to be limitless depth in that regard. So they are about as predictable or actually unpredictable as kickers.

I'm in an auction league with IDPs and I was able to get D.Ware and Peppers for $1, and Revis for $5. Dropped Revis for Landry since QBs are just not going to throw his way this year it seems.

Do you play 2 RBs, 2 WRs and 1 RB/WR flex?

I'd take this trade. You gain Andre as a stud WR and still have good RBs. Perhaps you can offer Jackson in place of Mendenhall? You're basically giving up two middle tier #1 RBs for a stud # 1 WR and middle tier #2 RB.

2RB, 2WR and a RB/WR/TE flex.

Jackson isn't an option, the other guy isn't sold on him, which I understand. I'm fine with keeping him and seeing how he plays out.

If he ends up offering the trade, I'm taking it. I need a premier WR badly.

If he could get Garcon for Hightower, i'm sure he'd be thrilled. Once Beanie Wells comes back his value is going to drop really fast, which is going to happen either this week or next. He looks like he has a complete team. I doubt he'd pull the trigger on any trade since he is not hurting anywhere. He actually has leverage on you sorry to say. Your best bet is Garcon for B Jackson but expect a lowball counter from him.

Ward @ tenn
Nate Washington @ Pitt
Harvin @ Miami
Floyd @ jax
Naanee @ jax

Which 2?

Ward and either Floyd/Naanee. Floyd might have a bounce back game but Naanee looks like he has a better rapport with Rivers. Until we see who establishes themselves as the primary option its a tough call. I think I'd might go with Naanee since he has a better name. LOL.

Haha, can't argue with that reasoning.

Didn't catch the game, but I heard Naanee's TD was due to horribly blown coverage. Does that change anything?

It was a blown coverage but thats because they had too much respect for Gates. Which will help the receivers in the long run. They actually triple teamed Gates on the last play of the game.

Naanee was targetted in the endzone on another occasion but Floyd had his looks as well. It didn't help that Rivers was bitching at Floyd the whole game either.
