Eh, I guess I'm just saying it's gambling. However, I've noticed put premiums have dropped recently. More appealing to gamble now.
I'm playing rambus right now, with a small position in S May 2010 calls. Had GNVC on my radar but obviously late to the boat. But I'm mostly cash still (saving for house+I don't believe rally).

3.50. Got it for 80c. Hoping for a turnaround or some kind of deal.
Gold to me is a worthless metal but with goldbugs and the asians piling up on it, my guess is 1700 by end of year. If I were to do gold I would mix gold and silver.

Trial start date, Jan 11. Jury pool selection, Jan 13, 14. All dates subject to change. So until the trial starts market won't believe it, hence the lower price.

"Very good chance"? No. Judge Kramer has reiterated that there will be no more delays. At the last hearing he was talking some crap about reassigning the case but IV members think he's bluffing to force settlement.

Whyte gives Rambus favorable ruling tomorrow for a small pop. Settlement on monday = $45+. If no settlement, and the trial officially starts, stock rises.
So I know it's a big risk, but perhaps I could buy 10 January $25 calls at open tomorrow. It'll only be $600 if it keeps the current pricing, and if the stock shoots up to $45, that'd be $20,000 in profit. Unless I'm entirely missing something?
lol you're not missing anything. The options market is basically saying probability of settlement is very low.

Are you convinced a settlement will occur? (I only ask because you own calls). But if the trial starts on time next week anyway, then the stock should climb above $25? So basically, front month $25 CALLS wouldn't be a horrible gamble.

Some of the guys on IV put 50% chance of settlement. Probably a figure pulled out of their asses but I like the gamble. I personally think if the trial starts on time with no delay and no change in judge then the stock will go above $25. But who knows.
